I met Bruce at San Diego Comic Con 2005, I was 17 and he was the biggest asshole ever. Didn’t give any fucks about the fans paying him for his signature…. He was so rude, come off as an asshole and didn’t give two fucks about the people paying him (his fans….). Instantly it was obvious why he never blew up, he’s probably incredibly hard to work with and has an ego problem.

I love the apathic " It's fine" of Rich. He's sounds tired af
Siskel's "no real love interest" thing really pisses me off. As a Canadian I grew up seeing how emphasized love interests are in American shows and it's so damn annoying. They seemingly cannot have a straight up movie like this without a heavy handed romance. I just knew going from watching Seven Samurai to the Magnificent Seven that they'd deliberately ruin the ending where the young protagonist and female character accept that they can't be together and go there seperate ways and make their equivalents in the latter movie get together, and sure they did.

When it comes to reviewing horror movies, Siskel & Ebert are pretentious pieces of shit. See The Friday the 13th reviews for more context. Love these rlm mashup videos, btw. Cheers from Canada

well i can kind of justify that the kid is a Samurai who can't really consort with peasants while the kid in Magnificent seven isn't hes perfectly free to be with anyone he chooses because he that society doesn't really have that the way you do in 16th century japan don't get me wrong i agree with your general point that Hollywood shoves romance in their where it shouldn't be im just saying you could use a better example is all like rise of skywalker is probably the best example of doing this badly
I love how it just seems like Sam is still that same guy, making movies with his school chums as he put it.
22:50 I could watch Ash all day just be Ash. Not killing or fighting demons just him living his basic life. He is the right person for that role. It suits him and its so fun to watch.
How did Rich Evans not know Caleb from Blood opens the game with "I LIVE A-GAIN!" as he rises from his grave. Then the ending has him say "Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun"
@davistoa
11 ай бұрын
Even if he does know, it's not like Caleb was relevant to the discussion cuz it's pretty obvious Jay was referring to Duke, that's immediately who you think of when you think "video game character ripping off Ash", down to the game's boxart. I do love how offended he is at the aspect tho, like he sees it less as an homage and more as straight up plagiarism. I seem to recall an interview where Bruce talked about how he shared Jay's sentiments tho, which is a shame cuz Jon St. John really did the lines justice.
Bruce Campbell hates the LotR movies with a passion having never seen them but as the primary reason why Jack of All Trades struggled and failed since all the labour, horses, etc. were taken from the region away from the show to work on the movie.
So glad this one's back, Mike's Tom Sullivan story is priceless
Sam using his jealousy of Bruce Campbells jawline to bully him in every take for the best performance.🤣🤪

Holy shit! You really went above and beyond with your editing here. You looked up and included the origin of the pottery break sound. You are a fantastic editor and I really hope this is just a side project and you are somebody's full time editor, because you do absolutely great work! If for some reason you've never considered it, there's a thousand different KZread or Twitch personalities that would KILL for somebody with your talent to edit their videos and would be more than happy to pay for it! Keep up the amazing work!

hell yeah
My favorite shot of any Sam Raimi movie is the last shot of Darkman--Bruce Campbell's little cameo--and I remember thinking it was so great. It was so Bruce Campbell; who else could convince you in two seconds he's the main character just by giving one ominous look at the screen. It's the one time I'd say the movie was better with less Bruce Campbell, not more.
Bruce Cambell was a co-star in a series on USA Network called "Burn Notice." It had 7 seasons and was a really cool show about a spy that essentially gets canceled by his own angency. Bruce Cambell plays a really cool, fun character as a co-star as they try to find how who canceled him and why. Really cool show.

Awesome work here once again! Your editing style is so in-step with RLM's sense of humor & it ends up feeling like it's naturally a part of their content's flow~
the crash sound at the beginning sold it to me
20:58 Jay comes in with a Star Trek reference to keep the streak alive! Kurlan naiskos with the "breaking pottery" sound effect.
Rich's constant use of "It's fine", is the exact energy this commentary needed
Nothing more meta than the cop drawing a picture of a stolen picture while the pictures artist is right there.
11:09 - I like how Ash conveniently has books about chemistry and steam engines in the trunk of his car.
Norm and RLM is such a sexually satisfying combo
Bruce is Sams slapstick dummy lmao, what a candid friendship.
The Ash shirt is the same shirt the Lone Ranger wore in the old black and white films.
Love the image at 14:14 with Tony Abbot and Peter Costello (PM and Treasurer of Australia at the time).
Another marvel of editing and Attention to Detail--cheers! 🤘
Medieval warriors : you have no honour! Medieval Bruce : yo mama!
There’s nobody here except Jo Pilato in his bathrobe….. That lines conjures up so many images…..all of them awesome.
9:00 according to AOD commentary track ir was producer Rob Tapert idea to have the slave girls
Fun Fact: The Wilhelm scream isn't originally from the movie it got it's name from, it had already been reused by that point and was already part of the Warner Bros. sound library. It was originally recorded for Distant Drums starring Gary Cooper. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lpdpqJR8YKa_nKQ.html

Sam Axe is still my favorite Bruce Campbell character.
It's been a while since I've seen Army of Darkness, so I might be misremembering, but I remember thinking it was oddly dark for such an otherwise light-hearted movie that Ash's love interest (if you want to call her that) is implied to be raped by Evil Ash. Or at least that was my read on it.

Ha same here right before I came across this.
Jack of all Trades was the first time I saw Bruce Campbell. I was obsessed with that show as a kid so I was so happy to see him play Ash in The Evil Dead.
Sounds like bullshit to claim I hung out w Raimi and Co just after Evil Dead 2. But here I am. They were all filming Darkman in downtown LA and crashed at night at my house in Granada Hills. My roommate was Dan Hicks. We drank copious amounts of Bushmill's Irish whiskey and played ping pong in the backyard.
I’m convinced that Quentin Tarantino is really just Sam Raimi when he’s on coke.
all the tv shows and no mention of burn notice, bruce was great in that

Did you know there's an actor from Birdemic that actually does a really good Ash Williams impression? He used it in a video game Ash appears in because they just kinda forgot to ask Bruce Campbell, or they assumed he was busy. And that video game? Poker Night 2.
Will you close the fuckn door

Army of Darkness is awesome. Its the one I show to the nieces and nephews to introduce them to horror concepts and ideas. Army of Darkness, Earnest Scared Stupid, and Are You Afraid of the Dark (a Canadian anthology story show). You guys can dump on army of darkness all you want, but SOME content has to exist as entry-level, introduction to horror content. And Bruce Campbell being the king of that is icing on the cake.
You are a really good editor

Oioi! Yer got a namedrop on Smershpod t'other neet!
“I can do that better” the cop drawing the skull with the artist right there probably
Story about Army of Darkness - When I was in high school, we did a play called The Legend of Robin Hood... Sort Of. They brought out a sword fighting troupe from Ann Arbor, Michigan to come in for a day to teach us how to do some basic sword fighting. Group was called Ring of Steel. They wheeled in this big... sword holder, I suppose. They tried asking us if we'd seen certain sword fighting movies. "Rob Roy? Yeah! Wasn't that great? Well... we didn't work on it! But the sword fighting is REALLY good, right?" Eventually they get around to Army of Darkness, "did any of you see that?" I raise my hand enthusiastically with maybe three other people. Dude rolls his eyes. He then goes to his sword holder and pulls the one placed dead center in the piece. It's Evil Ash's sword. Has the little skull on the hilt or whatever. He then goes on to explain "Sometimes you work on a movie... and you don't get paid very much... So... When you leave the picture... you get to drive away with pieces of it in the trunk of your car..." So if anyone wants to know, if they're even still in business, Ring of Steel in Ann Arbor, Michigan has the Evil Ash sword. Those guys were great though, I liked them a lot, and frankly they deserved to steal that sword, good for them.
It's insane to me that the first instance of the pottery break SFX was from the 80's Little Shop of Horrors. I would have guessed it was from something much earlier than that.
