I do wonder what was going through the designers' heads with that terrible screen to cabinet ratio. I'm guessing the same chassis was used with two different tube sizes and this was the smaller tube. What chassis is in it? Not a TV I've ever seen. Where are the picture controls?

If you search for "Rediffusion Durham" you'll see there's a TV with a 20" tube but a similar size cabinet. The 19" Murphy Acoustic has a large bezel around 19" tubes but none on 20" tubes (a 19" version gets smashed up in the BBC show The Changes). This answers your other question: it's pretty much a Bush TV161 with the A640 chassis with the brightness, contrast, vertical hold etc on the back. By the time this TV was made (1969) rectangular 20" tubes were the norm, but the tube in this set has a date code of 1967. Presumably there was a surplus of 19" tubes that were used for rental sets.

This is probably the last one in existence. They were all destroyed by Rediffusion in 1975, this one escaped somehow.

@@josha254 Despite the Rediffusion branding it's a terrestrial receiver so it receives standard analogue UHF over the air. It's actually a dual standard 405/625 line set. Wired Rediffusion sets could work this way as long as you have a VHF source.

How did you transmit reddifusion channel while it's 2023/24?

Same way you saw this video, it's a KZread video! It's a direct feed from a PS3 going into a VCR, which outputs the RF feed to the TV.
