Redefine Your Priorities and Overcome Complacency - Bill Johnson Sermon | Bethel Church

Ойын-сауық

Bill Johnson talks about how to redefine your priorities, find your passion, and overcome complacency. God is doing something great in the earth, but living in complacency is actually to live in opposition of the Gospel. As you enter this new year, respond to God’s invitation to up the ante in your relationship with Him. Redefining your priorities and overcoming complacency will restore and increase your passion for the Lord and purpose in Him.

    Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you today asking for your blessings as a single mom. I’m raising my children with strength and courage, despite the challenges I face with my sons being autistic. Lord as I struggle to pay my rent every month and as I struggle to buy groceries for my children. I ask that you bless me with your wisdom and guidance, as I navigate parenthood on my own heal my lupus and heart disease and continue to give me strength to keep going so I may watch my sons grow into men. ❤

    💥🎯When you come to the place where the foundation of your faith is all about Him, not what He does/provides, but His presence…nothing short of His fire soothes the passion that burns within! What life throws us doesn’t quench the flame in our heart, rather it fuels a blaze bc we must draw closer and live in His embrace…thank you for the reminder that complacency lurks and seeks an opportunity to distract us from His embrace. ❤ #lukewarmisnotaseasonitisadevil #dontbereducedtoaroutineinJesus🤯

    Law is external performance. Grace means dying to every remnant of self, and only in intimacy with the Father and through the cross is that even possible.

    How do I take this “law” of tithing and somehow in robbing God with 2 Cor. 9:7 where I’m supposed to give as I’ve decided in my heart not under compulsion or grudgingly?

    Hi there, if you are not a 'member' of a church, what is the biblical way to manage the tithe? Can you just continue giving to any ministry work perhaps?

  • @Eldemaer
    @Eldemaer6 ай бұрын

    Abraham only "tithed" once in scripture and he only tithed on all the goods that had been stolen from Sodom and Gomorrah. He then gave the other 90% back to the original owners (Sodom & Gomorrah) Abraham didn't tithe of his own wealth and he only did it once. So if we are to use Abraham as an example, we should go beat up some criminals, take their money and tithe on that and only do it once in our lives. When Jesus admonished the pharisees, Jesus was still a Hebrew under the law. Of course he had to speak in alignment with the law. He was still under the old covenant. As new testament believers, we are no longer under the law and do not have to tithe. Having said that, giving generously to your local Christian community is very important. We give out of our free will as directed by the Holy Spirit. God doesn't want 10%, it's all His anyway. He wants 100% of your heart. If money has a hold of your heart, you have set up an idol against the Lord. And the only punishment for idolatry is death.
