Why You Need to Let Go of Regret, Bitterness, and Jealousy - Bill Johnson Sermon | Bethel Church

Ойын-сауық

Bill Johnson talks about the importance of letting go of regret, bitterness, and jealousy. Christ died for our freedom, but holding onto regret, bitterness, and jealousy keeps us married to the past. How do you celebrate another person’s breakthrough when it is the very thing you’ve been contending for yourself? Bitterness and jealousy can seem reasonable, but we are called to reason from a Heavenly perspective. The enemy fears our freedom, because he knows the power of the sons and daughters of God walking in freedom and unity as the body of Christ. We can only experience true freedom when we let go of our past.

This is one of the most powerful messages I’ve ever heard preached . It was done in such love like only a spiritual father can do . We as Gods children must consider this daily if not hourly. I love it . Thank you Bill !

Bill Johnson is a wonderful father in the faith to so many, including myself. He imparts both the lavish love our Father has for us and the severe discipline He calls us to as His dearly loved children. I thank God for Bill Johnson! PS I also find his humor to be a celebration of the medicine of joy our Lord prescribes! Thank you ❤

Tears. This cut deeply to my heart. Five years ago, we lost our fourth child. He was four days shy of his 12th birthday. I’ve had so many regrets about him, about my children that are here, about not being available in my grief. About not doing things exactly right to make it better. And I’m challenged during the holidays to fix my eyes on the joy of my Jesus. This message felt like freedom. Thank you.

Pastor Johnson I have learned so many important truths from this message. 1.Don't accuse another servant to God. 2. Be honest with yourself and God. 3. Resist bombarding thoughts of resentment 4. Put into action your decision to forgive by doing something tangible. 5. Undstand you can't know the motive of another person's heart because your perspective can be contained by your own pain, emotions and the enemy. Thank you again Pastor for helping us with this valuable insights. God bless you always ❤.

This is a very solid message, but at the same time you need to be careful to distinguish between Godly discernment and demonic discernment. Demonic discernment will create harsh judgement, bitterness, anger, wrath, etc. Godly discernment will lead to clarity, revelation, avoiding calamities, etc. Discernment is a GIFT; just make sure you don’t have the counterfeit. 🙏❤️✝️

@@iubitnunesIt shows that God doesn't reward you based on the number of years you serve Him. You will receive a reward but not on how many hours you labored in the service of the Lord, as we read about the workers who worked 11 hours and compared their reward to that of the those who had only worked one hour. The owner did it on purpose to expose how we, sometimes reason and compare ourselves to others as well as how we see God. Do we see Him as a loving Father or as a taskmaster! You can also think of the brother of the prodigal son who was angry with his father for restoring his brother and told him, "All these years I have been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders, yet you never gave me a young goat so I can celebrate with my friends" Luke 15:29 It comes down to how we son God.

Bitterness comes from something that a lie that a person is believing in their heart. It could be a belief about a job loss one felt deserved. It could be jealousy. The key to resolving bitterness is to identify the lie you are believing and hold it up to Jesus to have Him replace with His truth. Once truth is received then peace immediately follows.

We must be careful about self-pity . About selfishness : the poor me síndrome . About narcissism : all about me . Ha be you been offended ? You also offend others . Have you been hurt? You also hurt others . Somebody made you bitter ? You made somebody bitter too . Solution ? Forgive and you will be forgiven , Do not do others what you do not like to be done to you . At the end, it is not about us , it is about Jesus . Too many do not do nothing for God , do not preach the gospel etc , because they are trapped by the poor me síndrome . Get over it , and start to do something for God and for people . The Bible says , there is more joy in giving then to receive . Why there are soooo many sad ? Becouse of their selfishness. Start to bless and give , and you will be happy . Get out of victimism and narcisism . Be happy .

Invite the Lord INTO your private thoughts and emotions. Share your truest feelings with him. Ask for deliverance in the areas you’re believing a lie, healing where you need it, and forgiveness. Need to hear opinions from other Believers on this real-life question: what if a husband emotionally and mentally abused his wife? Should the wife "forgive" and go back to him? There is a 4 year old boy involved in this, as well, and the wife took him and left the husband. This was for safety reasons - she feared for her and her son's safety! Forgiving the husband and renouncing bitterness and leaving the past behind -- how does that apply in this situation? I gave a very simplified summary of this situation, but it is factual and not exaggerated. Another important detail: the husband deals with mental health issues and keeps going off his meds, which causes these relapses, outbursts, trauma and then trips to a mental hospital or VA hospital. He keeps saying it won't happen again or he won't do ____ anymore, but then he does. He finally sought some help from his pastor, but it remains to be seen if it is real, genuine heart change or not. As I said, this is just the surface level info, but I'd love Biblical feedback. Thank you.
