irene and seulgi are apart of a five member group called red velvet. Irene is actually best friends with Jennie from Blackpink

Irene & Seulgi are both the oldest members of Red Velvet and also trained the longest, so when you put these two together you get a very crazy and perfect dynamic. Red Velvet is a 5 member group and is known for being super diverse in their discography and for having the best vocals in kpop. They were even named the “best idol group alive” by billboard. You guys should totally react to Bad Boy by Red Velvet as well and more stuff by them, they just never disappoint! So glad you two reacted to Monster 🥰

This is a subunit for redvelvet. The whole group consists of 5 members and the group is considered to be an experienced group: Red side (bright, lively, popping cute pop songs) and Velvet side (RnB, jazz, dark concept and sensual songs). And theres a mixed where its ambigious mixes of uniqueness that can sometimes fall a bit to either one. Their title tracks such as Bad boy, dumb dumb, and peek a boo feels like it would fit ur style of music which are bsides/velvet sides. But other tracks particularly bsides in any album are much better than title tracks

Actually you're right, the mv is about a monster (Seulgi) who underestimates her victim (Irene) you can see Seulgi crawling towards Irene, she's in control of her now, you can see that in the first part of the choreo when irene is the head of the "spider" and Seulgi has the control but Irene starts to dominate the monster and even if Seulgi tries to kill her victim (the scene with the gun) Irene wins at the end and now Seulgi is the head of the "spider" and Irene is in control of it

My theory is that the whole thing is about they trying to decide who's topping who

most likely "Monster" is based on the novel "Carmilla". "Carmilla" is a Gothic novel, known as one of the first novels about vampires, it also tells the story of how a young woman became the object of desire for a female vampire named Carmilla. The role of the vampire (monster) is played by Irene, and the role of the girl of Seulgi. At first it looks like Seulgi is the "bad guy" but at the end you can see Irene was acting like the victim manipulating Seulgi to make her fall into her trap. Aka Irene is a fucking mastermind.
