Red Top Mountain WA finding blue grey agates and a giant geode 😲🤘

Ойын-сауық

Another awesome day rockhounding up at Red Top Mountain in Washington state. Found some very nice agates and a giant blue geode. Cleaned up the crystals at the end and cut a bunch of the agates at the end. Stick around to see what is hiding inside!

Ive been looking for signs of Ian since last year. Great job reminding everyone that it is important to keep our eyes open and keep looking. Could've been any one of us.

Ian was my friend. Oh my gosh so weird I found this he came to me in spirit on his passing and I got a message about this place so eerie I knew him since childhood years my fiance died and I told him I could communicate with my fiance. When he went missing he told me he was gone as the search happened and I knew he was gone. We had plans to go show him my fiances hunting spots in washougal. After he moved back to the Portland Vancouver area.

I had just started trying to study that area when I got hurt a few years ago. Had a pit stop somewhere between Ellensburg and Cle Elum in lol January this year. I'm spending MUCH time this summer!!! Thank you so very much for sharing! I am much closer than I was in January just from watching this.

Bumpy ole ride getting there, eh? Lol! Man, I just love the scenery in Washington! Its good of you asking people to say something if they see something. You are right the family deserves closure. Good you took precautions yourself. I'd be pretty upset to see tearing into the root structure of trees 😡! You got an impressive selection of hounding tools. I need me a better chisel. About them rocks though, very nice! Purty agates! Very nice blue colors! Good finds. Rock on, bud 😁🤘

The digging under trees upsets me, but cutting the roots of a tree just to only dig about a foot and a half down I mean come on. I'm just trying to educate people along the way since this is such a local spot to me I want to make sure people are doing the right things going forward. 💙

I went to Red Top for the first time last May. Glad I rented a Jeep because my Ford Focus would NOT have done very well on that road! There was still a little snow on the hiking trail. I found 5 small blue nodules and one geode, so I was happy. Thanks for sharing! 😸

Ive spent a lot of time on Red Top years ago. With the best finds being the cavity filled agates. That once polished look like opals, with a hollow center of cristals casting light back into the blue. Mistakingly people think they can find Ellensburg blue there. But there is only a very small chance of it. Being they got there from washing on the shore of an ancient lake. You can find it as a cemented layer of gravel that time has now mostly washed away. But it is very odvios once found.

Question for ya I’ve been using an iron out for the last week I mix it up really good using hot water with a little bit of soap and the bottom of my rocks are turning black from the residue coming off of them.Is this because I’m soaking them too long what’s your experience with this

  • @TheRockHugger

    @TheRockHugger

    Жыл бұрын

Iron out usually only works for about 20-30 mins and it's only going to eat away at the iron staining. Not sure what's causing your black residue. I usually soak mine in water after iron out for double the time I had it soaking in the solution. Also good tip is to get all the dirt and loose bits off before soaking crystals. The iron out is mainly used to clean the quartz, not going to do anything to the Rhine of these agates just FYI.

I know it sounds tedious, however the next time you go you will have a handful of better spots to dig at. I'd suggest taking off down some of the trails before the lookout. Might be easier to park on the main road then walk into the little roads that shoot off it. I've had great luck at the last big turn towards the top. Just trying to do what I can to help raise awareness. Very sad indeed, I truly hope there is closure for the family soon. ❤️

@@TheRockHugger I agree. I wish they had answered. I remember driving Blewett when the murderer was on the run, so many law enforcement agencies were on the hunt for him. We all want justice for Ian and his family.

From the looks of things, none of the treasure hunters are filling the holes they dig, and they’re damaging trees and terrain. Humanity was given responsibility to take care of the earth. Do better.

Language young man. I’m done, thought about watching a new person, it won’t be you because I just don’t want to hear language that’s unnecessary. Good luck to you.

Most people dig under trees because the roots pull up the rocks. Now I would get your thinking if there are roads or houses there, but it looks like the middle no where. I would dig the trees as well. Don’t see anything wrong with it. I see people who dig out the bottoms of rocks walls. That would worry me more then a tree following in the middle no where

Here you are looking to hit bedrock for the bigger stuff and there's plenty of open space that doesn't have trees to deal with. Leave the tree digging to Hansen Creek 😆🤘
