Yes. Rail was a chief means of logistical support during ww2 among most belligerents. The fact that this one had flak on flat cars indicated it was likely to be important.

Speeding up a BR52 is an impressive achivement. They do not have a top speed rating but a top slowness rating (80 km per hour)

That steam locomotive is a Deutsche Reichsban BR52, also known as a Kreigslok over 7000 of them were built and many are still running today.

Lets see: the planes are P40 warhawks (please correct me of im wrong) and they was epuiped with 6 0.50cal Machine Guns. These guns could penetrate 30mm armor (with the right ammo,dont sure if it was used by planes) and they havent rockets in this clip. The plane who destroys the engine fly forward to it. It would never penetrate the boiler ( the flat angle with that the bullets hit). The plane should attack tje Side, not the front...

I'm fairly certain you'd need more than a couple dozen .50 rounds to get an engine to derail doing about 45 kmh if you're attacking it from that angle

Verry unrealistic as the damage to the boiler and subsiquent steam release should have blown it into pieces without any fireball explosions. They run on coal, the fire would have gone out probably or at least hot coal would have been slung everywhere

The train was going 10mph relative to the planes attacking it. It was probably doing closer to 45-50 mph.

From actual gun camera footage, the locomotive tends to keep going the same direction on the track even after the boiler explodes

The film gross over seas is doing really though well world wide and also climbing. This film should do extremely well with its DVD release profits. It's at the top of the list with The Grey,Underworld Awakening. It really wasn't a bad movie to enjoy. Not a major blockbuster but it was actually pretty good.

@@CrisisHedgehog Fully Ammunition train, minus the locomotive. Steam trains only eat fuel and drink water, they carry loads on wagons that the engine hauls, not on the engine itself.

Uhhhhh... I had been told that the standard issue for a P-40 was 6 x 0.50 cal, not a 75mm M3 gun !
