@Rajo 6466 Anims the locomotive is an A3, and was operated by the LNER in the 20s. Apart from the great animation, I think the best part of this is setting up the plot as an excuse to animate the crash of a train. You don’t need to know where the guy came from or why nobody else is on the train. It’s just the simple circumstances of the scene that lets the train crash make sense, and the dude survives! Aside from the stellar visual work here, I have to commend on how ingeniously farcical the short was clearly intended to be. Showing the World's Most Famous Steam Loco in a off-beat scenario, and actually crash and explode in impact was part of the joke, yet it's depicted ever so accurately. It hammers it in when the only survivor of the whole ordeal is the human occupant. Incredibly the 'Flying Scotsman' did almost face a collision impact in real life; it happened while it was on its nationwide tour of Australia in the late 1980s. As it was travelling on-route to Alice Springs, a road-truck raced across an isolated road-crossing in front of the approaching locomotive, though it cleared the tracks before it went any further. Regards, Samuel Farris.

@Rajo 6466 Anims the locomotive is an A3, and was operated by the LNER in the 20s. That doesn’t change the fact that the one in this animation is a British Railways A3, which you can tell by the BR lion and wheel logo and the distinct British Rail Green color, which is different from the LNER “apple green” color.
So over the top, love it. Just how one coach flipped over caused a bomb level of explosion. Also RIP Flying Scotsman.
i am not one to usually get scared of horror movies and something about the sound design and only one person being in the train frightened me to my core. it's like the mechanics of the train and the rails where the monster knowing that it would destroy itself in pleasure to take the life of the only passenger. extremely good job landon!

Apart from the great animation, I think the best part of this is setting up the plot as an excuse to animate the crash of a train. You don’t need to know where the guy came from or why nobody else is on the train. It’s just the simple circumstances of the scene that lets the train crash make sense, and the dude survives! This guy knows how to have fun with cgi.

Combining British locomotives with American sounds is what is known to us railfans as highly sacriligeous.
