@@Tinil0 If the video is presented as a awesome deck and it looks like its just being used in play, its a legit criticism. And most decks to make a video about are presented as awesome decks, or at least fun jank. People need to stop conflating critisim with being mean.

@@thisispotatos9957 I really wanna agree with the criticism thing. But the issue is how it's being presented. Saying "doesn't fucking count when it's in playmode *insert any ad hominem*". As opposed to asking what kind of mode it is seeing as play doesn't really qualify for a ladder deck. Even though the modes are ironically more similar than I'd like them to be. So yes, people should learn to take criticism without getting butthurt, but people also seriously need to learn the difference between proper critique and toxic flame.

@@kaerustation Oh, would be a mistake. The deck can win with just one rage, and holding cover up until it shows up could be too late and you lose in one shot. In that game, taking out the deluge was the correct play, since it would diminish opponent's ability to assemble the combo. If the rage was already in the graveyard, like during the second cover up, yes, with the rage already in graveyard, the correct play is to remove it.

Kaervek, the Punisher is crazy value, and can trigger multiple times per turn. Was trying to find a reliable mana dump crime trigger (for when I hold counter mana up), but new to the rotation. Only found coral colony, which isn't terrible when you have 2-3 crime lovers on the board, but I was hoping for like a blue tapper or something. There is Forensic Researcher, which is cool, but not familiar with how easy it is to collect evidence 3

I think you can keep a two lander - especially you playing so many lands - but that hand was full of very 'similar' cards (in this case cost - two copies of Phantom, the next card in the list when ordered by MV - Three Steps Ahead - and another similarly cheap spell in Throat). I'm fairly sure it tries to emulate physical shuffling by 'clumping' cards of a type (depending on order, which may vary) and then shuffling the clumps, sometimes weaving them, sometimes more, sometimes less - if you get the sense it has done so less (i.e emulating poor shuffling), it's usually worth a mulligan cos whatever you see in your hand (i.e few lands, lots of cheap or expensive spells, lots of one color, etc) you're almost certainly about to see more of it.

  • @matthewpatton9221

That's expecting 3/4 off the top to be land to be on curve. That's asking a lot with honest odds. It's only 40ish percent that you'll draw 2/4 with a 3 land opener. Miss and you loose. I see almost 80% 2 land openers with my H&K Breech running 28. There's a hidden MMR/ELO handicap system. I found a dev blog post about it a few years back. It's supposed to protect the long-term health of the game by protecting noobs from getting repeatedly punished for their mistakes. The most common noob deck is mono-red because it's cheap and effective with an easy play pattern to learn. Yes, they get loaded draws against you. No, your deck isn't supposed to function. This is a hand holding education session. In many cases, they will have a guaranteed win if they make no or few mistakes. Like the pixie tutorial matches, but it's set up to make you feel like a big boss challenge that they defeated. Dopamine hit; addict another. Have a Mythic participation trophy. Try an experiment. When you first hit platinum, concede a bunch of games with bad draws and concede when you miss land. Can't drop rank. Get 30-50 losses in and watch the hands normalize. Repeat at diamond for a pretty painless Mythic climb.
