We have up to 20 king parrots come in on various days. My wife has one particular friend. He will come in and want to see what she's doing, land on her back when filling a watering can and walk up to her shoulder. Yes He's after food but he's not worried. He will sit on her shoulder and wait patiently until there is a new bowl of sunflower seeds. It's funny how intelligent some birds are!

@wownouser She's Australian and Australians are no different to anybody else. They are just as hateful. That's why us bird feeders feed birds - for pleasant company. Like I just had 6 magpies come up to my door in a group. It's truly beautiful. They are sweet like babies. When they first started coming, they would send a baby to the door to squark over and over as baby birds do. I would open the door to see the baby magpie there and then I would see the adults standing a couple of meters away, looking sheepish. Little scammers. I love them; puts a smile on my face - something humans are no longer able to do.

@@oriraykai3610 actually there are 2 subspecies of birds based on if they can walk or if they have to hop. Then within the ones who can walk like parrots, chickens, of pigeons, you have to separate the ones who have to bob their heads forward with each step or if they can keep the head upright. Birds like pigeons and chickens can't walk straight up and must do the funny head thing. And I'm totally getting off topic but yeah, it's totally normal in the wild for them to walk like that even without ever seeing a human. Edit: I should say subclassification, not sub species.

You're so lucky... Here in the UK, growing up we had a whole host of different garden birds - sparrows, magpies, crows, blackbirds, chaffinch, wrens etc. Over the years - they've all gradually been pushed out... by blasted pigeons ! They're everywhere - usually in huge flocks. They've literally bullied their way in - forcing other breeds out.

OMG how I love Australia and the birds who call it home. I cannot even imagine living in such a place, near the ocean, in the woods and these wonderful little guys and gals visiting. My hubby and I had a bird rescue years ago (birds came from the idiots who did not do their research about cockatoos and parrots, and didn't like it when they got "loud"--which is music to our ears!) Just two years ago, we lost our amazing Greater Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo Billy. John had him for 43 years and he passed in his arms. He knew him longer than he knew me! Here I go sobbing again. We believe he was at least 65 years old. He was John's boy! We miss him terribly, and my baby Citron-Crested Cockie (just 9 years old) speaks everything he learned from Bill andstill looks for him. We have only two birds now on our little ranch. Tazzie the cockatoo and Jack the cockatiel. We have outside birds who come and see us every day, and love to eat mealworms from our hands. We love it here in the mountains of central NM with our horses and deer family. It is beautiful and I would not want to live anywhere else. If we would ever be able to visit Australia we would love to be in an area with lots of friendly and curious birds. Also diving on the Great Barrier Reef (we are both certified and worked with an underwater film company in the 80s). Thank you Kat for taking care of these little angels! Many thanks also to Dodo for sharing you story and so many other wonderful videos. Greetings from the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico USA. 🤠🐴🐦🐳🐬🖖♥
