It's wierd, this is probably my least favorite chili peppers album, but fans I know swear by it... don't get me wrong, I love the album, its messages, and the tone of the music, but maybe its cuz I'm such an oldschool fan of the original, chaotic vibe of the band and where they started, as my introduction to... thrash punk I guess I'd call it? Mosh pit music!!!

Try the back catalogue man .. Mothers Milk is a must and One Hot Minute is my favourite of all, even without J Frusciante .. waka waka lol

This is one of those bands where you don't need to "understand" the lyrics! Kiedis's words are, for the most part, a hodgepodge of surrealist poetry. It's not so much about understanding his meaning as it is allowing him, along with the band, to paint a picture in your mind. It's fascinating to think that millions of unique interpretations have been formed in the minds of listeners and mind-blowing to imagine the many billions of potential future impressions yet to happen.

Only tour I ever caught them on. It was their only album with Navarro on guitar so that's kind of exclusive. NOW I gotta see em with Frusciante. Too bad I missed Klinghoffer. I love both those albums. Not to mention Haleel Slovak though I'm not the biggest fan of the first 4 albums.

EVERY song ranked by me (B-sides Included) 1. Bunker Hill 11/10 (this is my favorite song EVER, I can't explain how or why but i could listen to this song forever and never get tired of it 2. Parallel Universe 9,5/10 (awesome guitar, voice and drums. the only reason why it's not top 1 it's because bunker hill exists 3. This Velvet Glove 9,4/10 (just a bit below Parallel Universe, but it's also REALLY GOOD) 4. Californication 9,0/10 (a really amazing song, slightly overrated and sadly, it overshadows most songs from this album) 5. Otherside 8,9/10 (same as californication, just SLIGHTLY less good) 6. Quixoticelixer 8,5/10 (Every single time I listen to this song I feel the Irresistible urge to sing along, I love this one) 7. Around The World 8,5/10 (again, same as californication. kind of overrated and often taken as one of the best songs by this band. it's really good tho) 8. Easily 8,0/10 (this might be a hot take, but's one of the best songs, a bit different from the rest from this album, it just has something special about it) 9. Purple Stain 8.0/10 (Every time I listen to this song it cheers me up, even when I'm not even down. I has a nice nice funky rhythm) 10. Fat Dance 8.0/10 (same as Purple stain, this song has te power to cheer anyone up by just listening to it for a bit, and the drums are awesome) 11. Get on top 8.0/10 (The guitar in this one is one of the coolest shi this band has ever done, the lyrics are kind poor tho, that's why it's not top 5 or so) 12. How Strong 8.0/10 (For some reason, I enjoy this song way to much, I know it's not that good. but I love it) 13. Right on time 7,5/10 (short but intense.) 14. Porcelain 7,5/10 (this song it's simply beautiful, I get chills everytime I hear the "Drifting and floating and fading away" and the "little loon all day" 15. Sugar Sugar 7,0/10 (a very good but at the same time unknown song, It deserves WAY more attention that what it gets. I love it) 16. I Like Dirt 7,0/10 (the guitar and drums in this one are amazing, but the lyrics are kinda boring and the song overall feel a bit repetitive) 17. Mommasan 6,5/10 (a very unknown song, just like sugar sugar but less good, not worse, less good. if that makes sense...) 18. Emit Remmus 6,5/10 (kind of repetitive and stale, the lyrics aren't that good, overall kinda boring but still "listenable") 19. Trouble in the pub 6,0/10 (I feel like this song would be around top 10 - 15 if it was complete, this sure has some potential) 20. Gong Li 6,0/10 (Relaxing and really chill, I like it but there are way better songs in this album.) 21. Scar Tissue 6,0/10 (I mean yeah I get it, it's relaxing and shi. but omg it's this song overrated. it's good but DAMN not that good) 22. Savior 6,0/10 (this song feels incomplete, like a demo or something, it's good but I really seems to have been made in a hurry or something) 23. Telling a Lie 6,0/10 (I'm gonna ignore that fact that the guitar is the same as in the longest way and I'm just gonna say it good but a bit too slow) 24. Over Funk 5,5/10 (It feels incomplete, the lyrics are kinda poor and it's a bit repetitive) 25. Andaman & Nicobar 5,5/10 (has potential, but is it is it sound ALRIGHT) 26. Road Trippin 5,5/10 (the worst song out of the original cut, the fact that they had other options to put in the album but decided to put this one bothers me) 27. Intrumental #2 5,5/10 (this has a very huge potential, too bad it didn't come out as an actual song with lyrics 28. Slowly Deeply 5,5/10 (same as Instrumental #2, it has a lot of potential) 29. Instrumental #1 5,0/10 (it's a cool intrumental, it gets repetitive really quick tho) 30. Boatman 4,5/10 (kind of boring, if it had lyrics it'll obviously go higher but as it is, it's kinda lame 31. Plate Of Brown 4,5/10 (I get cronical depression everytime I listen to this song, hell nah) So the final cut's average is 7,6/10 And with all of the B-Sides included this album's average is a 6.9/10
