Jangs quality is so high, I bet the other youtubers see this as a entry barrier they will not achieve and therefore focus more on their own style. Perhaps the audience is not there for the other toy manufacturers, Lego is havily carried by adult fans, who will watch first then buy. Kids see a flashy box in the store and buy, they do not care about the value and the usability. Other hobbies in general are well represented just beyond the entry level, just go down the rabbit hole...;)

Even if I weren’t an AFOL I’d probably still enjoy Jang’s reviews. His chill, conversational mannerisms combined with his obvious passion and expertise for all aspects of Lego are qualities that make me want to listen to a person, no matter what they’re talking about.

I remember watching reviews of the original set. How nostalgic

I’ve been looking forward to your coverage of the new Ninjago sets! Would you consider doing a side-by-side comparison of the Legacy models versus the original sets, similar to your videos comparing new/old Star Wars sets (assuming you have the originals on-hand that is)? I think it would be very interesting to see the evolution of Ninjago sets over time, given that it’s one of Lego’s best-selling themes.

Yeah that would be pretty cool but I don't think Jang has the originals, he's probably given them away to a charity or something by now, since that's what he does with the Lego he doesn't want to keep long-term iirc

Cole looks great he’s one of the better looking ninjago golden suits

I think the issue with this set’s price isn’t the fault of the Lego group, but more the fault of the buyer. If someone was going to display the set, they could easily take out the bike inside the car and it would still look the same on a shelf. Since the whole point of this set is that play feature, the set wouldnt be worth as much to someone displaying the set. Where are someone playing with the set is obviously going to want to use the bike feature, so they would be willing to pay more just for that feature. Hopefully you understand what I’m saying as I kind of got lost in my words lol

I agree, I only really want this set for the golden Cole in actuality the figure will be worth the £45 on bricklink once the set retires so from my perspective I think it's worth it for the golden Cole alone, in my opinion it's the weakest if the 10th anniversary sets. I'm buying this last or as soon as it's slightly discounted or put on sale I don't want to wait until it's soon retired can't chance it.

The motorcycle is for cruising Jang City, while the main car is too big for such a journey.

I love this set but I hate the back they could’ve added more stuff to the back

I agree. If they put a bit more structure on the back, I would consider getting it.

I remember this, I had this set when I was young. They removed my favorite part, which was a basket ball net being used as part of the engine on the back. I love how the windscreen has been extended with bricks. As always, great job!

Jang if you remember M.A.S.K. the set is like a car from that 80's toy series

This is my personal favorite of the new sets! I think it looks really good and I love the play feature. Great video, as always!

Im so glad that they made this set again but I do like the old version way better

Not my favourite design but I can appreciate that they went for something new, at least. I know a lotta people don’t like it but it has a “new kid on the block” charm.

For the record: I'm pretty certain they chose the armor for the 10th anniversary minifigs based on the respective seasons they were mascots / lead roles of most recently. Cole was the mascot of Master of the Mountain (Season 13), Jay was the mascot for Prime Empire (Season 12), and so on.

This is suspiciously very similar to the Ninja Tuner Car so the designer definitely drew some inspiration from it like the very exposed rear wheels, most of the bulk being on the front and blades that is angled that follows the side shape of the car

this is such a downgrade, the original looks so much better not to mention the complete lack of detail on the back of the new one. absolute trash set.

Hi Jang! Love your reviews. I'm especially looking forward to the reviews for the new LEGO CITY sets. My niece is 5 years old and has been playing with LEGOs since she was 3. My family and I were looking into investing in one of the LEGO themes for her and although price to part ratio may not be the best in LEGO CITY, it looks very appealing. That being said, it is always good to see someone else buy the kits and give their honest opinion about them. Keep up the good work!

Each 10 years golden ninja is based on a different season and Cole is the only one with the "hero" armor

No, "red = faster" is a trope that's older than 40k.

I feel old now can’t believe it’s been 10 years now I grew up to this

The Golden Ninja headgear piece makes sense when you compare it to the others. Their different headgear styles represent the mascot characters for the last few seasons. Cole was the Season 13 Mascot character.

I wish that this set had steering in the back. The bad thing about system cars is that they do not have any steering or suspension whatsoever.

I think it’s a completely different build. I also prefer the old one, but the mechanism on the new one is fantastically designed

Doesn't even fell that long ago since the original was on shelves. Reminds me of the oversized car from the SOG wave. A lot of build for one minifigure. Though I really like this update a two seater build for anything this large should be a must, but I guess with the bike launch gimmick it wouldn't be possible.

Original had better features and felt more like a secret agent esque car. The turret actually rotated, it had fold out flick missles on both sides. The bike was a smaller part of the entire car, which made the thing feel more proper. And the pin that held the bike to the car was on the fairing, making it look like an exhaust. Not to mention the unique looking basketball hoop net around the back thruster.

Reminds me of the Akira bike. It's cool!. The price/volume makes this a tough sell on a shelf, but everything else on paper is pretty good. There's better $50 sets but there's also worse.

Definitely looking forward to your reviews of the new ninjago wave!!! I was wildly disappointed with this set and am super sad that the golden cole comes in this set

Amazing video but is there any one who can tell my why when I try to deploy the bike it wont come out all the way I've already spent half an hour dismantling it comparing to the instructions and it still wont work.

Hey there’s something up with my x1, if anyone can help it’ll be appreciated. When I use the mechanism to launch the bike from the x1 it barely makes any distance if not any. I’ve dismantled it many times and rebuilt it to still have the same outcome. If anybody can help that’ll be highly appreciated

Do you mean the dark grey piece? That's a pneumatic connector. On Bricklink it's listed as 99021 "Pneumatic Hose Connector with Axle Connector". Otherwise, you can scroll through the parts list here: www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=71737-1

To me, this vehicle always felt redundant, because Kai had already gotten his own vehicle that year. So now that they've made legacy sets of both his jet and this car, it's like a double redundancy. And honestly, regardless of improved build, I still find it hard to be a fan of a bright-red oversized car that seats one minifig. I'm looking forward to your review of the legacy Zane's Titan Mech, which is a set I had to get my hands on immediately when it was released

Agreed, though personally i liked the fact that the Kai fighter was a bit cheaper therefore me and my pocket-change allowance could get a ninja vehicle.

@@trimdesign1 Oh yeah, definitely, the kai fighter itself was warranted imo, but the ninja charger came out later on both accounts, and that's what makes it feel especially redundant.

There surely is a balance between modern day lego durability and the size of older sets but this doesn’t have it.

It's been released worldwide. I buy all my new sets from Amazon, Target, Lego.com, etc.

I got this on sale for 40 dollars, so that feels like a good price to me

I want someone to try and combine aspects from this new one with the original. I really like the back engine of the original, and wish they kept that on the Legacy set. When I saw the back of it, I actually winced at how barren it was.
