Without the multiplayer trophies RDR1 actually has one of the most enjoyable platinums out there imo. That’s why I’ll eventually get around to buying the PS4 version

Fun fact, the new PS4 port of Red Dead Redemption actually makes it much easier to acquire the platinum because all multiplayer trophies have been removed. I managed to get it in about 45 hours after starting a brand new game.

I also have no kids or a ball and chain either, So yes I drop money on video games that game out before. I also have a 160 plus Xbox collection and frankly don’t need to keep buying games but I do because well because I want to and I will continue buying video games In fact they could re re re re release Skyrim on ps5 with new shiny things and charge 59.99 for it and I’ll buy it Why? Really appreciate this, thank you bro! It's a great game but an extreme grind in the later half so I'm glad I managed to push through :)

If I had to guess it's 15 Stranger Missions instead of 18 because there's 3 that are I believe John Marston exclusive with his meetings with what I assume is death himself so there's 3 you can just outright miss by beating the game.

Let me know how you find it bro! Without the multiplayer, this would've been a lot quicker to attempt 😅 They added Undead Nightmare into the PS4 platinum which adds about 8 hours. Apparently it's a great DLC though so you're in for a treat 👀

I dont know if this platinum is worse, or the one for the PS4 version. Yeah, theres no multiplayer trophies for the PS4 one, but they combined the UN and main game trophies, so you have to do all of them to get the platinum. Also, its always a lot easier to get all of the miscellaneous trophies while you're playing through the main game. Its less tedious that way because you can work on some inbetween the main missions.

This is my proudest platinum. Mostly due to how hard it was to get the online trophies without having friends to play with (or even a headset). I had to send text messages to random players from my PS3 and beg them to help me boost the worst ones. And with the greatest of respect and appreciation, I did find a few people who were willing to set aside several hours of their time to do it. But I can't even begin to explain what a nightmare it was to tell them what to do while texting them with the controller. UGH!!!

Something i always like to remember, my Dad nearly 100% the entire story. Got every side objective done, raised his honor to the max, and everything to collect. But he never finished the game because he didn't want to see John die again

the last stranger mission you did is usually the longest and most drawn out one imo, kinda funny you had the opposite experience. it feels like that because in the main story you can start it as soon as you enter mexico, but cant finish it until you can access west Elizabeth. also btw armadillos spawn like crazy near the town of armadillo, it got that name for a reason lol

That first time riding into Mexico is still one of my favorite gaming moments ever.

This game was my childhood. As soon as homework was lazily finished, I'd hope on and hangout in Armadillo with my Pancho on. I'd hangout and play poker while waiting for bounties to respawn. I miss that.

i got this achievement on 360 forever ago! i honestly really enjoyed going for it

With all the money you can earn in this game adjusted for the time period, he could have bought a team of lawyers (which by itself would not help) and bribe a handful of federal judges. With enough money back then you could buy your way out of anything (maybe even today too lol)

back when i was like 10 years old playinf red dead 1 there was there bodies near mc farlens ranch, it was just people almost dying and if you shot them you would just keep gaining 1XP every second, and i managed to get my way up to level 50 to get the bonzo bull in an hour, wanna get my ps3 to play red dead 1 online so bad

This was my favorite game as a kid I had practically every trophy except the multiplayer ones and the ones where I had to have a bounty (because I was a good noodle and couldn’t have the heart to be evil) and it was just from me playing the game naturally I remember that I never *technically* finished the story because I knew that John died so the closer I got to the end the more I prolonged it by doing literally anything else lmao

Keep the good story telling and editing up, i have never heard of „platinum“ before youre gollum video, but i realy enjoy the way you present the story of games i dont find the time to play.

Playing this for first time on switch and it’s really good. Might be buggiest game I’ve played in a while but nothing game breaking. Usually reloading a save will fix the issues.

I've beaten this game about 3-4 times. I never got 100%, but I always beat all the story missions and stranger missions. After alll this time, I never knew that there were ducks and seagulls in the game

When this came out on 360 i finished the game 100% probably the only game i ever finished completely, even the undead download.

As this is my favorite game i found this platinum easy and very fun tbh

Man, I hate that I was never able to get 100% on the SP as I was always missing 1 thing, twice. Could never figure out what I missed in the game.

Back when we thought RDR2 would be played as Jack. I gotta say though making 2 a prequel and seeing Dutch as a leader of the gang and life they led when Jack was just a small boy was the right choice

When I first played the game on release I spent 2 weeks getting passed Bonnie's farm.. I didn't like the physics of gta 4 and I was worried red dead would play the same.. So it took me two weeks messing around in the opening of the game game in small burst before I really got into it.. It's become one of my favorite games since.. But since I spent so long on the opening, when I stormed the camp with west dickins I actually thought it was the end of the game 😂.. And I was 25 at the time.. I should have known better..

Do the 100% for all DLCs trophies next. These are torture. They are pretty much impossible without a boosting session, I mean for one you need to kill 8 individual players in „land grab“. If the people you boosting with are focused and nice, its fun, but if not it will get you burned out.

Currently at 98% I understand bro what a fucking grind but it felt so good to be so close even if I’m not done only have 44 hours of playtime as well lol

I feel you on not wanting to pay the $50. I have a PS5, and Series X and just decided to buy a 360 version for like $10.

The quick ends of the former members of the gang was not poor game design or failure in storytelling, it was intent to show the story of people that live like that generally doesn't have a climactic or dramatic death. Just fast and violent.

I mean there’s things to complain about with RDR but breaking a horse is nowhere near long or difficult

This is the only game I’ve ever 100%’ed by accident, that’s how much I played it as a high schooler lol And the only other game I got 100% on was Infamous Second Son which was incredibly easy… I think I did it in like 30 hours and is, to date, my only platinum trophy. The only things I didn’t get in RDR were the multiplayer ones which I didn’t play too much of

My copy of it won't work on my ps3 it says something about a data error and it tries to install it but it always freezes on 41% never working

Just a friendly heads up for future usage of the phrasing for dice. One is “die”, and multiple is “dice”

I would have loved an attempt to 100% this on Xbox with my GOTY copy but unfortunately it would require gambling which Gambler Challenges in RDR2 have giving me PTSD and also I would need to do Undead Nightmare which since I have a disc copy, it’s infected with the “No Head Undead Plague”
