    Yes, the suspension configuration matters tremendously. Actually, even more than mechanical grip alone. What you want is to stabilize the platform under all conditions so that you can run the floor as close to the ground as possible. So the pushrod rear, and pullrod front counteracts the forces of accelleration (squat in the rear, "motor boat" in the front), and under braking the pull rod nose configuration in the front minimizes dive in the nose, and rise in the rear. That is the main purpose = to keep the floor flat to the ground as much as possible under all conditions.... it is not being done for the reasons of aero advantage in terms of "flow through" as a main consideration.... This is why Adrian began at this point in development on the RB18 FIRST (To stabilize the platform before any monkeying around with aero development). This is also why Mercedes zero pod was a failure no matter what They changed or tried for 2 full seasons. The suspension was wrong on a fundamental level. The Zero Pod concept can be a very solid concept IF it was ever given a stable platform to begin with.

    This is the mainstream media narrative, where someone early on said RB's suspension was anti dive at the front and everyone ate it up and republished it. But if you pay closer attention to those in the know and as Dr Obbs said in this interview, push and pull have less to do with mechanical grip and more to do with aero. The suspension arms are used as aerodynamic devices to direct air flow. So if you don't have the arms on the right position and shape in combination with the floor and wings and diffuser then it won't matter if you have push or pull. ALSO Mercedes did not fail with their cars, Red Bull just excelled and got theirs to perform better. Remove Red Bull from the championship and who had the next best car?

    I forgot to mention Craig Scarborough backed this opinion also in one of his recent videos on Petter Windsor's channel (that it's less to do with push or pull and more to do with the overall package and what you can do with the setup)

    Mercedes kept saying that their concept showed the most gains in the wind tunnel, that's why they kept the zero pod concept.

    I don’t think that vertical inlet is enough to cool the radiators, mostly because the airflow path wouldn’t pass where ‘probably’ the radiators are mounted, I believe there’s a little inlet underneath the “wing” of the sidepods, also there was a 3d render of the rb20 in the Red Bull official site and that model had 360° view that showed this inlet, some moments later the 360° view was removed.

    @@Lewythefly I’ve already said it and it isn’t about size it because where the radiators are mounted, just reread the first three and half lines of my previous comment. Mercedes changed their position and that permitted the so called “zeropod”, IF Red Bull had changed it too there was no needed or such bulky sidepods.

    @@elChirrinChirriondelDiablo i read it all. don't you think inside the pod they can have a duct shaped however they want to direct the flow to the radiators / intercoolers. Just like the air intake at the top of the engine isn't directly inline with the engine behind the driver.
