Fastest F1 car lap is 6 minute 36 second from 2007. Later a hybrid Porsche prototype car did a 5:19 on the the Nordsleife. It would be tough to pass that 5:19 mark without a optimally setup F1 car.

Thought the f1s are naturally more faster than the 919 in corners but the 919 relies alot of acceleration and top speed so u could still say an f1 would be faster around most tracks and yeah it depends what f1 car you'll be using like the 2020 cars are much faster than 2016 etc.. but i doubt anyone would do it and if the real car would survive the nordschleife on a proper balls2thewall hotlap

Exactly, although I don't think he is an asshole at all. On contraire, I find him to be an extremely competitive driver, and I absolutely love it. To be world champion, you have to show every race why you are number 1. And Max goes above and beyond proving it. Unlike checo, who has to ask his team mate to give up a position.

Marko's stance is understandable. He also once blocked Seb when he still in RBR from swapping his F1 car to MotoGP with a German MotoGP racer. This was in 2010-2012 if i'm not mistaken

If Max were to ever race at the Nürburgring, he should probably do it in his championship winning RB16B. I'm not sure how well the Venturi-Tunnels on the RB18 and RB19 mix with the Green Hell.

Marko didnt want another Honda to get another record.

I wish the racing world cooperated a little more on fun / big events. I get needing to protect your driver, but I also love the idea of F1 drivers participating in many big events across multiple series like the Indy500 or 24 hours of Le Mans

Driving a f1 car that is already prone to pirouettes on normal tracks with it being a a ground effect one on a "circuit" that has the worst surface quality "racing" asphalt I could ever think of with all it's bumps and wavy geography and it's a recipe for disaster, doesn't matter if you are good or not you will eat the wall or fly off into the forest.

He should just sneak off and rent a Ford Transit van, see if he can beat Sabine's time.

I’d prefer one of our academy drivers to drive in hyper car instead such as Leclerc who is a graduate. Max would never race for Ferrari anyways.

It sucks cuz I’m sure Max would put in a banger of a lap but I get it. It’s a tight track with little run off and they can’t risk him getting hurt and ruining his stellar season so far. Motorsport can be unpredictable, slight mistakes can be costly

Never say never, but the track is so big that it would need to be grandfathered in as the FIA has a max recommended length of 7km and it would be obscenely difficult and expensive to rework the track to safety standards and certain parts might have to be destroyed to do so. I think the chances are very close to 0% as cool as it would be to have it back on the calendrer.

Yes but actually racing with the consequences of crashing is very different especially this track in particular. I have gone fairly fast on Assetto Corsa and I still have no plans to go and try the real deal. Although my Dad, like Marko would prevent me driving there because my Dad would be old enough to vividly remember Niki Lauda’s crash.

Seems like they don’t want Seb to be directly compared to Max.

I think Max is well smart enough to know the risks involved in going all out at a track like that, especially in an open wheel car. There's very little to worry about really. Red Bull should change their minds and let him drive honestly; put him in the RB16B, have him be in the middle of three wide between Vettel and Daniel, get some lovely pics, then have them follow one another at about 50-60% pace swapping the lead every so often for 1 lap. They won't get a chance like this again.
