this makes me so happy. i grew up with my grandparents (who were from China and Hong Kong) taking care of me which i feel i took for granted now that im older and in high school. my grandpa’s no longer here and my grandma is not able to do daily things on her own anymore and so when i recently stumbled upon your channel, it made me reminisce the times i had with them and it just brings me joy to see your parents cooking and especially hearing them speak Cantonese because I genuinely missed hearing my grandpa talk in that dialect.

They work so hard to provide for my siblings and me, and I am grateful to have them as my parents. I love desserts made with red bean, and red bean soup is one of favorite with dried mandarin peels. I grew up eating Cantonese desserts made at home 😋

Happy Mother's Day to Mama Lau and Kat, this reminiscing my childhood back in Malaysia when an old lady sold this in a different shape walking around in a cooler. It came in a jelly bowl with red bean chunk at the bottom and coconut milk at the top. It was delicious 😋

I made these for myself during my teens. So many wonderful memories. Now that things are so convenient and foods are in abundance, I did not make all these for my son. Just buy. Making me feeling a bit ashamed.

This is a lovely recipe. In my childhood in Hong Kong, we had "Put Chai Ko"; another red bean pudding recipe that kids loves x.

Instead of popsicles I used to make snack sized red bean ice cubes with toothpicks in them.

I made it yesterday...very yummy
