The Red Angus Association of America is well known for raising the bar of profitability for commercial cattlemen nationwide. On today’s show, the Red Angus Association announces a brand new breed collaboration that promises to raise the bar even higher. This collaborative program has already proven itself on the famous King Ranch. The King ranch is a multi-generational operation that owes much of its success to developing innovative solutions for raising cattle in a harsh environment. Key to the collaboration are Red Angus females which have time and again proven their potency as reliable money makers for the American beef industry.
The Red Angus Association of America is pleased to announce a new collaboration with Santa Gertrudis Breeders International. Tested and proven on the King Ranch, this collaboration gives commercial operators a red-hided, heat-tolerant cross that packages together the profit traits that each breed is known for. The program is called American Red.

Do the red Angus sell for the premium that black Angus does .
Do they thrive in the heat and extreme cold as well and on marginal range conditions???

Robert Moore I mean it’s basically a red brangus. So it’ll probably be good in the cold just like any other Brangus.
Red Angus + Brahman equals Red Brangus so is the American Red a cheap version of the Red Brangus because the American Red is a Red Brangus or a Santa Gertrudis this cross does make sense to me.

Santa Gertrudis is Shorthorn and Brahman. By adding Red Angus you have an animal that is 1/2 Red Angus, 5/16 Shorthorn and 3/16 Brahman. It is a different composite that are popular these days.

Red Angus are Red Angus. They are NOT Brahman. Red Angus preceeded Black Angus. Red Angus feed out better on grass than Black Angus.
