Many play it this slow or slower and don't match this level of expression. Speed has little to do with it, but I guess that's what untrained ears find easier to detect.

I can see the gardens and fountains of the Alhambra. So sweet and light and gentle.

I am impressed, and I have seen Segovia in person. Such beauty is sorely needed these days. Thank you!

I saw him perform at Segerstrom Center for the Arts about two years ago. Needless to say, the entire concert was amazing. What made it memorable for me was when he played this piece and dedicated it to a member of the orchestra who had just passed away. It was very touching and emotional, but at the same time, very beautiful and magical.

Love this performance. Many players rush through this piece like a machine gun. He has so much control here. The tone is sweet and warm.

Everybody told me to listen to Narciso Yepes playing this. But I was totally horrified by his version! He sounded like he had a plane to catch or something. This is great - second for me after John Williams.

This performance is insane! He is in perfect control of that tremolo. It alwalys amazes me how much impact the tempo of a speed has. He playd alhambra a little bit slower than the most and it sounds like a total different piece.

La mejor versión. Una belleza. El trémolo parece el canto de un ángel y el susurro de la brisa sobre un campo de trigo al atardecer. La parte final hace sonar a los graves como si fuera un piano. Impresionante. Tarrega se emocionaria al escucharla.

.....spero che in questo momento tragico della nuova peste che tormenta il mondo....la sua Persona sia al sicuro...i testimoni come lei sono preziosi...poichè celebrano il valore della vita adesso confrontandosi con la Morte...come monito delle apparenze mefistofeliche di questa civiltà...che porta un conto salato...ma ci offre come non mai la possibilità di comunicare pur distanti..possa il suo canto alato farci essere capici di continuare a Sognare...e consolare chi è nelle lacrime..

Beautiful playing. I love the attention to the little counter-melody in the bass line that so often gets neglected and the beautifully crafted phrases. I show this performance to my students all the time to demonstrate that you don't need to play this piece at 160+bpm to make it work musically. He rarely goes passed 120bpm in this.
