So there are a number of things wrong with this video. They weren't using a custom film stock. They were using off-the-shelf Eastman Kodak 5222 (double X) in 35mm. They were trying to recreate the atmosphere of an old orthochromatic film stock so they had custom short pass filters that rejected orange, red and infrared light while passing blue and green light. So in order to recreate the look of the lighthouse you would be better off using BLUE lights and not RED lights as suggested in the video. The distinction is important. Red light/filtration will brighten skin tones whereas in the Lighthouse they tried to darken skin tones using a blue filter.

Even better than that using a cyan filter on the lens instead will give the best affect and be closest to the custom build filter they used by Schneider

Three blessings that worked for me while trying to capture this vintage film look 1 - Tiffen red filter to put over the lens 2 - vintage Contax Zeiss lenses (pretty affordable around $300 a piece) gives great vintage looking images 3 - Filmconvert plug in which allowed me to control the film stock I am trying to replicate as well as the intensity of the grain. I will be making a video soon on my process soon!
