GRACE! I have a project for you: disability friendly meals - I can stand up for about 10mins max (even with a seat in the kitchen - if it goes in the oven and I can sit for 20mins or so I can maybe do another 5mins) but what can I cook!?! I loved cooking and I love good food! I'm vegetarian - my current fav is to use prepared roasted veg trays, lazy garlic, then chop up halloumi and bake it all for 45mins. That's the sort of thing I could cook but I need MORE :D I just feel like you're a good person to ask!

Hi Grace. I used to work in Ice Cream at Unilever head office (company that owns Calippo brand). Calippo dots are definitely still around. They are part of the out of home range so you won't find them in supermarkets - they will usually be in mom and pops shops around the country - particularly on the coast. We had them in some of our freezers at work :)

@@lovefromlila That's possible :) I worked there a while ago. It's very possible as well that Sainsbury's has a deal with Unilever for an exclusive of the multipack which may be why it's hard to find.

Oh my god the Calippo shots bring back so many memories - I’d entirely forgotten about them til now! The Turkey Dinosaurs used to be incredible back in the day (paired with smiley faces obvs) but they taste awful now 😭

Callipo shots are horrible, I remember the smell made me sick Everytime

No one ever remembers but I used to love the boxes of "Mingles" different kinds of mint chocolates. Sad they're gone 😢

Haha I remember that "Turkey twizzler" Jamie Oliver malarkey. He really hates those succers!! I think he revolutionised school dinners and also did some great work in hospitals to improve hospital meals. Glad he uses his platform for good change. Helping us to eat the best food we can. Not restrictive, just not so many additives!! Sure they had to change the recipe after that!

The baked bean pizza has blown my mind. It makes sense. It’s essentially baked beans on toast, just it’s fancy Italian toast. I think I will have to try it. Love the way you bake. I’d love to see you do a comparison of all the different types of cakes, you know, sponge cake, pound cake, chiffon cake etc etc, and show how they’re all made but then also taste test them and describe the differences. As a new baker who can’t decide what to make next it would be so helpful, and when you explain how something tastes I get it.

Grace you should open a nostalgic bakery/cafe, recreating all discontinued foods or food from different decades so people can come and experience nostalgia ❤️

usually the reason commercially produced cakes have that really soft texture is because they're made with vegetable oil rather than butter because butter is spenny!!

In Germany we have the Ritz Chocolate (from a German brand obv) and they're truly great, I'm happy that they're not being discontinued over here

Omg the fabulous bakin boys 😍 yasssss! Your description took me right back to childhood 😂 that chocolate topping was SO thick!!!!! They also made muffins and flapjack type things too. Think they went into administration rather than the product being discontinued?! Haha I remember baked beans pizza but never had one, nor turkey twizzlers 😂

I loved the baker boys lemon cupcakes! Yum! They were such a different consistency than other cupcakes 🧁! They used to sell crisps back in the mid seventies and they came in a gold packet and had I loved the beef flavour when I came out of swimming once a week- that was my treat! They just hold the wonderful tasty memories for me and I thought I was the bomb when I was walking to the car with my gold bag of crisps!!

Fun fact: my dad is one of the engineers who developed the machine used to make Calippo shots 😄 He told me that it wasn‘t a trivial challenge to produce them in that shape in these large quantities.

Right?! He’s done a bunch of cool stuff. At one point, he was also involved in the European space programme (in a minor capacity, obviously!). I think his job was to do with testing the fuel for the Ariane 5 rocket.

Oh, and we got to test Calippo Shots before they were actually on the market 😄 They were first named Calippo Shots, then Solero Shots (at least in Germany - maybe not everywhere), and then they returned to the name Calippo Shots. Good times.

Grace the turkey twizzlers actually used to be really nice! They changed the recipe to make them healthier :( but! Bernard Matthews recently announced they’re releasing the old recipe turkey twizzlers soon! Pls try them when they do that because then you’ll see how good they actually were. Also you’re a gem 💖

I used to be a product developer for Mondelez. They own both Cadbury and Ritz brands. Hence the collab. In Australia they still do a Ritz sandwich with a chocolate cream in the middle (not sure if they are elsewhere).

In New Zealand a cheap dinner growing up was 'Spaghetti Pizza' - basically a scone base but with less baking powder, with a can of watties spaghetti, extra cheese and herbs if you'd like (Italian seasoning was a hit in my home). I honestly have been craving this meal lately! It was interesting to see beans placed ontop of a normal pizza... I don't think I'd enjoy it at all compared to this childhood fave.

I started year 7 in 2000 and there was “turkey 2000” which, I kid you not, was turkey in the shape of 2000 all joined up. I used to love Cadbury Tasters - which were solid chocolate mini spheres with a coating. And Cadbury oat crunch - which was released at the same time as that Ritz one :) xxx

We used to have baked bean pie at school too. Makes sense as cheap to make! I also remember having Calippo shots at Alton Towers feeling so cool 😂

Loved the fabulous bakin boys they used to do those cakes in lemon flavour too and flapjacks - so good!

CAMPINOS! And fox’s sprinkle crinkle crunch - a biscuit no one remembers, but cannot be beaten

Sainsburys used to do chocolate teddies cereal, they were little chocolatey teddy shapes with a few coated in white chocolate. They were so good!

OMG FAR TOO MANY THINGS - MARS DELIGHT, GALAXY MISTLETOE KISSES , Mars Planets and Cadbury Spira - for juice - Five Alive Tropical! AND CALYPPO SHOTS WERE MY FAVOURITEE EVER!!!

The baked bean pizza was everything! Was so good

In Germany we’ve still got a Milka chocolate bar with Tuc (a salty cracker) on top. It’s so good!

I work at Krispy Kreme and I can assure every one it's CREAM like dream 🤣 makes me giggle when someone asks for a strawberries and Krem 🤦🤣 Love this video!

I'm pretty sure Bakin Boys did a variety pack where you got all the different flavours!

The sponge cakes with chocolate on i used to make these for my sons but i used to use Terry’s chocolate orange melted.I do remember the baked bean pizzas lol 😂

Fun fact - turkey twizzlers used my be my favourite and I vividly remember playing spyro and eating my twizzlers and just projectile vomited everywhere so now I can’t even think of them without cringing 😅

Oooo in the states we had shots They were my go to ice cream truck or corner store treat. I miss them so much. They’re made by the brand “popsicle” here though. I’m so jealous you can recreate them!!

The US (or at least pennsylvania lol) has those calippo thingys too! We call them Shots and they’re usually sold in ice cream trucks, I usually got an ice cream cone but I definitely remember having those too! :))

I just want prawn cocktail wotsits back in my life, I’ve tweeted walkers and sadly there’s no plans for them back 😭😭😭

In australia we sell the ritz chocolate sandwhiches in chocolate and vanilla flavours they’re somewhat “new” I’m not sure if they were a thing back in the day here or not but they’re very good!!

In America there are fudge dipped Ritz around the holidays sometimes. Also there's a thing we make either with a pretzel or a Ritz cracker, and then put a mini chocolate on top like a milky way or Snickers, and you melt it in the oven and when it's ready you press an m&m into it. Then you leave it to harden for a bit. It's so good! I make them at Christmas with red and green m&Ms and rolos, but I don't think they have those in the UK. They're just a soft caramel coated in milk chocolate. Another Ritz snack people make is taking 2 crackers, putting peanut butter on one and making it a pb Ritz sandwich, then dipping it in melted chocolate. We dip only half bc it's cleaner and faster! Also half dipping Oreos and then dipping into crush peppermint or sprinkles! ❣️

In Australia we have Ritz and we have Ritz ‘sweet n salty’ which it literally 2 ritz with chocolate in the middle, they also have a vanilla chocolate one! (No a Collab with dairy milk). But they’re also dairy free 😍

Used to love popping the fabulous baking boys cupcake in the microwave, great little pudding 🙂

I dont know if anybody remembers them, but the food I miss the most are "Trios" from Nestle. They were the best cereals!

I don’t know if you had them in the UK but I really loved Space Food Sticks. And when Dunkaroos first came out in Australia they had a muesli/granola crumbly topping bit to dunk in after the icing bit. That bit was my favourite.

Baked beans are a fear food for me. I maybe eat them once a year if they somehow make their way to me. I made maple baked beans for Canadian Thanksgiving for my family, and they have not been eaten. I can't waste food so I'm going to eat them today and I'm terrified. This is the second youtube video I've watched this morning involving baked beans lol so I am taking that as my courage!

I used to hate/fear baked beans from early childhood to adulthood until one day around age 28 I tried them and loved them and I haven't looked back since! Mind you, the British baked beans are very different to Canadian/American baked beans. Yours are sweeter more bbq flavour right? Whereas ours are in a tomato based sauce.

In the Netherlands we have a chocolate bar of the brand Milka with Tuc salty cookies in it. And it's really good! Makes me think of the one your are making in this video.

lol I'm the queen of estimating measurements, after being a bread baker (weighing loaves and buns etc), and also from buying all my snacks in the bulk store!

When you said you 'cracked it' with the calippo i instantly thought omg you could say you 'gracked it' 😭

If you want to find some discontinued items sometimes it is worth going into £1 shops or places such as B & M, The Range, Home Bargains, Savers, Buyology,Chaplains etc. These places normally have these sorts of things when you cannot find them in your main supermarket
