They were late to help us to work in the box or work remote. so they kinda lost me as a customer I am a reliable soft tube/ plugin alliance and arturia customer now and not thinking of going back. especially even slate emulations are better on my cpu. but yeah i watch this for Alina's tricks.

    My question doesn't really pertain to this but I thought the plug-ins that are loaded in the insert slots ran on the computers CPU . I loaded one up in there and it gave me the Dsp pop-up window telling me I've exceeded my Dsp resources. I just got the solo thunderbolt version and I'm a little worried because I can't seem to do much with It . I wish I knew before purchasing because I would have waited and gotten at least the twin . But after seeing how fast the DSP goes i probably would have gotten the twin X Duo.I was so psyched but not anymore . Can't do more than ONE channel with processing. THAT BLOWS!

  • @MrMemyselfandi415

    @MrMemyselfandi415

    3 жыл бұрын

    You don't have to buy the plug ins, just buy an Apollo solo and call it good. It's not that expensive, it sounds great, and It'll run a preamp emulation if you actually try one and love it in the future. The plug ins are STELLAR though and once you try them you'll wish you'd purchased more DSP. They don't make interfaces without the ability to run "plug ins" because they're a "plug in company" that makes most of their money in "plug ins" and running their "plug ins" on their stellar interfaces sounds like an orgasm in your music that people WANT. So you don't have to buy the plug ins. But you should, and the fact that you don't want to should be concerning to you if you love GREAT recordings. I hate paying full price for some of this stuff, and I use lots of different companies for plug ins, but damn it if UAD isn't amongst the very best.

  • @alexbreyer6921

    You don't have to buy the plugins. In fact, there are several plugins that come free with it. But although it's a pretty good deal if you're looking feature to feature, compared to other interfaces. If you're not going to get UAD plugins it's kind of silly to spin that money. And UAD plugins are expensive, there's just no denying that.

    To be fair, Pop is an American thing. So putting a letter in front of it does not change the genre. It's just a sense of entitlement. The style of singing is different but the same can be said with any genre of music. Music is art and universal. How many genres are created by Black folks? Still does not take away the talent from the artists who participate in the genres. Leave that race nonsense alone and enjoy the music folks. I think these two are amazing. Nice work Ben ✊🏾💯

    Thank you for not relying on Auto-Tune! I hate Auto-Tune abuse that dominates modern music regardless of genre. To be clear, I'm against Auto-Tune and pitch correction overall except for fixing something that can't be easily fixed by a retake. I recognize there is an aesthetic to it that some like, but to me it sounds revolting in most cases. It's like the Phil Collins gated snare from Peter Gabriel's song "Intruder." Everyome wanted that sound once it hit, so everyone used it to the point that everyone eventually hated it and avoided it. I'm hoping for the sake of music that there is a change coming in which the same abandonment of Auto-Tune comes. The ironic part here is I come from a history of industrial music in which vocals were heavily processed. I also like electro-funk which often has vocoders, which I'm fine with, but others hate. My big thing is I want somewhat real voices, and when Auto-Tune is used as a crutch, it detracts. I'll personally use it (or Melodyne) on my own vocal tracks when I'm writing a song as a guide of which notes I need to practice on, then practice until I've got the pitches locked in and then remove all the pitch correction.

    This is GOOD content and we really appreciate the knowledge, but can you also please show more diverse groups on the songwriting and production side of things? It rubs me the wrong way that this is about K-pop music but there's not a single Asian songwriter/producer/singer involved in this ://// Like if you're going to talk about Asian music, you should really include SOME Asian songwriters & producers & session vocalists. Diversity is SO Important in knowledge sharing and music discourse!!! Talking about Asian markets without Asians involved is not cool. You can do better, UA!

    Girl, you do realize that people study the Asian market. Asians aren't born with the knowledge of their market. What you said was really stupid. It's literally "You can't talk about math if you're not from Greece. You have to at least have one greek person in there." You study math, you're not born with that knowledge. The same goes for the Asian market. They've studied it for years. They even know more about it than some Asians.

    @@harrypotterbulgaria8233 I think you may have misunderstood my comment. I didn't say to include any random Asian person with no knowledge for the sake of it. But there are tons of people in the Asian diaspora that are literally working in this industry with some of the biggest artists and making the biggest hits TODAY, with way more impressive credits and much more knowledge. The Asian market and unique set of tastes and trends isn't something that can simply be studied because it is dynamic and changes all the time, plus there are cultural sensitivities and cultured nuances that someone who isn't a part of it wouldn't naturally understand, and it is something relevant to songwriting and understanding the relationship of the people to the pop music itself. Even though yes, there are tons of Western songwriters because Kpop does also try really heard to fit the Western palette as well in order to help get global impact, guess who are the ones approving the songs at the end of the day? The Korean entertainment companies and managers. Guess who's writing the lyrics? they're in KOREAN with some other language words thrown in here and there. The most crucial part of kpop Is the fact that the songs are sung In a whole other language, an Asian language. So to say that Asians aren't even involved in the production of Kpop music is absolute bullshit. My comment makes perfect sense and it is fair criticism. UA can do better. Plus, they could've at least chosen more relevant writers with hit songs TODAY to do this. Like someone who is writing hits in 2020 and 2021. There are many. I can think of at least 5 people off the top of my head rn, and they're actually all Asian too. At the very least, the session singer could've been if not the songwriters. Diversity is important and impacts discourse robustly.
