Record Bale Setting Field - Vermeer 605N, Rowse V-Rake

I guess the wet spring helped this year for the haycrop. Hayfields all did well, but this one really set the bar.

That double sickle bar mower does such a neat job cutting. Enjoy watching it cut. Congrats on the hay crop! Good video. Thanks

Monster windrows. We'll see what winter brings since the usually wrong Farmer's Almanac is calling for a "glacial" and colder winter. I haven't seen them right in years though. Was nice to see the sickle bar mower again. Kinda pleasing to watch the grass fall down.

They can't predict anything. Only thing one can do is see what the current t weather pattern is doing. The bar mowers aren't going away anytime soon, so don't worry 😆

Only a trace. Haven't had any amount of rain since July 5th. I hate to say it but it could stay away for a week to get the oats and durum harvested.

We try our best to keep it nice... The hay equipment we've updated lately the last few years Haven't gotten totals yet, but well over 1000. Still have straw, stover, and sloughs to tackle yet.

Sure was a lot of bales. Figured when you cut it that you were going to do well.

Well that explains hay prices. I’m north of Bismarck my best fields been a little better than 2 bales an acre. I’m making 5x5s too maybe 1200 pounds.

With all the moisture this spring everything took off. I still think straw and stover will be a hot item yet. Find out how the winter fares, next spring hay might be extremely high again.

@@farming4g You can really tell around here where the snow drifted from that late blizzard we had. I wasn’t expecting it to get much cheaper than last year since the price of everything’s doubled. Looks like sell offs from last year and good yields proved me wrong.
