Reconnecting with Your Spouse - Dr. Greg and Erin Smalley (Part 1)

You have good seasons with your spouse…and not-so-good seasons. And sometimes, you just feel like married roommates. On the next two-day Focus on the Family, Dr. Greg and Erin Smalley encourage you to work through exhaustion, busyness, and distractions to reconnect with your spouse. Through daily communication, intentionality, and creating safety within your marriage, you’ll be able to move from married roommates to soulmates, rekindling the love and spark you had in the beginning of your relationship.

Yup. There is a degree of commitment required when you're in the thick of kids and career and there's not much time for each other.

I find the biggest challenges to marital intimacy are kids, work and hobbies...All of these things are important and essential, and tough to balance.

Hmm, micro moments. Never considered those before. I'll give them a try. Make sense.

My marriage needs prayer. We've been married 28 years. I have a few of your books that I listen to because Im struggling in our marriage but I can't get my husband to care. He's 150% on work. everyone around us including our adult kids see it but him. We are talking divorce.

Bonnie, I hope your marriage has improved and that you’re happier. I’m going through similar issues and trying to improve my marriage. It’s been an uphill battle and there have been lots of tears.

I’m sorry, Bonnie. I’ve been married 40 years & most of them were pretty tough. Fortunately we both were willing to work, and this year is the best ever. I think we finally figured it out (& have had a lot of healing from even childhood wounds behind a lot of the unhelpful behavior). Saying a prayer for yours!

@Shanon Johnson HI Shanon, has your marriage improved since you last commented on here? My husband always says everything is fine, but isn't on so many levels.
