It’s mostly due to cubic inch, the more cubic inch the less boost it will make. If this blower were on a smaller inch LS it would probably make 10 psi.

There is something to that. I'm almost 600hp with a turbo Coyote on 5-6psi with the stock cams and heads. Even dropped compression to 9/1. I think a lot of it has to do with nearly 300cfm from those 4 valve heads.

Pulley swap away from 900hp if you get 9psi out of that supercharger. It can easily go up if need be. High hp with the lower boost is nice though, probably last longer and be more street friendly.

They aren't the best engines out there but whatever lol. Coyotes and condor/trinity v8 4v fords and 03-04 cobra 4.6 4v motors all can make big power with just boost on a stock long block with way less cubic inches than the 7 liters shown here. Doing it with 4.6, 5.0, 5.4 or 5.8 liters max is dope. Dohc + boost is like a cheat code. This thing is a built highly modified 7 liter lsx.

"After the AMC fans brought out their pitchforks and torches, Detroit Muscle wisely decided to use the 304." Damn straight! Far too many, "went with a LS engine," builds. Even if it's a LSX, putting a GM engine in an AMC heresy. From my vantage point, only AMC should go in an AMC. And I would be totally behind a punched-out and/or stroked 401. Because AMC was the "little car company that could," and to use anything but AMC is disrespecting the legacy. AMC fans are a loyal crowd and will always pull for the underdog.

I mean at the end of the day cylinder pressures are about the same either way weather it's higher boost lower compression or visa versa. It might keep iat down and make recovery time better and be easier to cool the blower but I don't think it's really much better on the engine itself but at the same time some blowers don't like to be ran at such low boost and perform more optimally at a higher boost level. Each blower has an efficiency island that you should try to stay within for best results and not go under or over that.

the biggest issue here is that no one makes "new" products for AMC engines. All the product lines have not been updated or re-engineered for the last 30 years. Powernation works off manufacturers giving them parts to hype. There is just no money in AMC. And this is coming from a real AMC fan. I've owned and raced Javelins, Rebels, Matadors, the works. I've built AMC engines that do go fast. But the reality is that engineering for ICE's has come so far from AMC that it is crude and limited. A lot of engineering advances have been "backported" to the Chevy 350 (the classic small block) and GM continues to build newer and better engines.

As my ole Boss always said, "Ain't nothin that money can't fix" ! Why would anybody do this much for a 100 plus HP!? Funny thing is, I beat the crap out of supercharged vettes, in an LS1 powered RX7 that was stock! So, "THINK" about your bank role, and think about how to use it, because this ain't the best way! First worry HP to weight! Whatever you think, will kill your car before you even build it!

Amazing when you consider 376ci puts out 707hp and you lose 400hp on other boost. You hit the target tho and it only cost a small fortune. Good infomercial never the less.

Yes forcing the air up making it have a longer path of travel creates more HEAT. The enemy of any performance engine.

Im no super charge expert or engine expert at all but im pretty sure that blower or every blower has a heat exchanger inside. Thats why they put that external radiator to cool the heat exchanger inside the super charger
