In 2023 a piece of legislation known as the the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act (which had been in place since 2002) was replaced with a new piece of legislation called the Trust in Real Estate Services Act (TRESA for short).
This new legislation is aimed at improving consumer rights and transparency in the real estate industry.
In an effort to help realtors better explain some of the changes & improvements that are part of TRESA, the Real Estate Council of Ontario has created the RECO information guide.
The RECO Information Guide is a 12 page document that has been designed to help buyers and sellers make informed decisions.
