Great choice on the lens. It's more forgiving with the wider angle. Less worrying about camera placement and video edits is beneficial with the wider lens and allows you to focus more on your game play but still making quality content. Great investment, Drew 🎉

Camera quality is lookin nice! Hugh Frisbin approved. I imagine its tough to stay motivated to practice a ton after years on tour but keep practicing, trust the process and you'll get back to the top of your game. I appreciate the series, now its time for me to practice more for an A-tier coming up!

Aye Drew.... Great self reflection. Been playing for 23 yrs and Im approaching 48 this year. I had to do some huge lifestyle changes so I can keep the disc flying past 400'. Goal is MPO locally... MP40 for A tier and up next year through my 50's. Good luck on your journey!

Speaking as someone who was trained in music classically and works within that world, time off for an injury can be a killer and very frustrating to return to form. I have experienced it and have clients who wrestle with it all the time (musicians are every bit an athlete). Your mind knows what the results should be but your body is not in the refined condition to deliver consistently. In general the rule of thumb is every unit of time away from your regular routine requires 3x that unit to get back. I think your renewed attention to a practice regimen of some sort is a definite plus. One thing I would suggest (not knowing how your psyche works, you may not need this) is to set a less amorphous benchmark. In the year you were out, a lot of young whippersnappers poked their heads up (and some old ones such as Matty O). I think 1039 is a good goal to try to get back to. It’s you against the course and you against you. That is no longer top 5 territory though, and it may take into next season to get there. But once you get the consistency back through your practice regimen and get the rating back up to that level, you can start creeping up into the 1040’s. I look forward to seeing your progress in your journey. Lens looks great.

I also used to have the same issue with the forehand even tho I could throw it upto 400ft it sometimes just randomly came out like that. What fixed it for me was to change the grip to the one Sexton uses, it keeps my wrist always pointed forward and not turning up. I know tips from amateurs is the last thing you wnat to hear but maybe this will help someone else scrolling through the comments :D

Depending on your camera you can change the auto focus settings. For example my canon can be set to prioritize focus on human faces. Your camera is prioritizing the biggest object in the frame.

@@DrewGibson maybe try a priority center focus mode. So it always focuses center frame. If you’re far away or wearing hats/glasses some facial trackers won’t work. The real fix is to manual focus, but I understand that’s adding a lot of work.

I notice myself starting to throw bad when i start thinking to much lol to many things going through the mind , taking a dab clears my mind and the disc start flying better for me atleast.

It’s definitely the mental game that you need to focus on right now, the mind drives everything that comes after and if the mind isn’t right it will affect the rest. You’ve clearly got the skill and have showed it in the past and that probably is very conflicting to go through as you come back off an injury and haven’t been back in that same form. Take a look at any of your wins and figure out what exactly was it that made you a winner those days, sure you played good disc golf but there was a mental and physical connection going on during those times that seems to not be meeting up this season. Look at AB, last year his mental game just wasn’t all there and he couldn’t get it done in the big moments, now look where’s he’s at sitting with 3 wins already this season all because he figured out what that mental disconnect was and has corrected that. Hope to see you bring it all together this season and get your confidence back
