Hi Jael great job trying out different plants to see what works & what doesn’t. If your land is not even you can create a natural pond by having small French drains that direct water to all meet at the pond for water harvesting for the dry season & you can then add ducks & they are good for your garden & don’t destroy like chickens but add value as keeping pesticides & weeds at bay. ❤all the best

Hey Grace
Hello, I know willows grow near water and just did quick research and indeed willows help with swampy land by breaking up the clay underneath and drawing water deeper. Try it! Willows are also beautiful. Apparently some grasses do the same. I googled 'what plants to grow to improve swampy land'

Wow! I didn't know about willows. What a beautiful tree. I don't know if I will find it here,but I'd love one in my yard

Oh thanks for this. I didn't know about cedars
Jael why don't you grow the trees around the four corners of your fencing, except where you have constructed your house.

Yes,dear. There are so many trees along the fences,only that they're still young and may not be visible in the video.

Pine is good, only that it does not allow other things to grow around it.

So blue gum trees are best for absorbing water? Like in a swampy area? Do their leaves fall off often?
@jaelofthevillage

Yes,they're good for waterlogged soils. The leaves fall off in the dry season.

Have you considered digging/building a dam. And then cut the drainage to it. Then you will never lack water, and then you can raise fish. Amd then thank me later.😂

Blessings Jael🥰. Please be encouraged! I think you are doing a fantastic job with what you have to work with. I pray God continues to send those across your path who will continuously give you a helping hand. It’s wonderful to have a knowledgeable big sis to give you advice and a helping hand. I believe one of your end results awards will be “this is what happens when you take what is considered nothing and make something of it!!!” Your homestead is already looking so much better than it did after the fire! The arrowroot and banana trees are looking great! Continue to move forward with your vision as blessings overtake you on all sides. Mungu akubariki! 💜🥰🙏🏾👏🏾🫶🏾🙋🏾♀️
