Hi Renee and Tim. I'm currently hiking the Miner's Way in Ireland and my backpack is full of dehydrated meals from your recipes. I have been eating SO well. I've precooked my pasta and have discovered that they all cold soak pretty well! When I taste tested at home I did cut way back on the salt so that's my only suggestion for folks (to taste test). The Thanksgiving dinner recipe is outstanding, and the creamy spaghetti, and the coconut cashew curry, and the coconut PB noodles. Faves. Thank you a thousand times.

Wonder if the extra salt was to help maintain electrolytes when on the long hikes. I know after long exercise I crave some salty food. Either way I gotta stop being lazy and get going on hikes and make my own food

I would recommend having some potato Stix for topping after the soak for the crispy texture your missing from the browned tots. Frenchs onion topping would probably work too.

@@annielynn8730as someone who is allergic to the normal soups, tater tot casserole is dictated not by the actual ingredients, but by the morphology. Slab o' beef, soup, tater tots. You use impossible burger not-beef? Still tater tot casserole, because you got beef-ish, soup, tots. The form remains consistent, even if the ingredients change.

I heard them mention before that meat has the shortest shelf life and they store a lot of their stuff, they don't use it all immediately. I feel like they gave a second reason too but I don't remember. So they try not to use it on trails. Not sure if it's also all the time/for ethical reasons but as a vegan, I love this 😍
