Let us introduce Western Australian powerhouse, Michelle Giles. Michelle is a graduate of APC's HLT51020 - Diploma of Emergency Health Care and HLT41120 - Certificate IV in Health Care. We are thrilled to share her story with you.
Michelle was working as a Medical Receptionist before deciding to study at APC, knowing that it wasn't enough for her to feel fulfilled in her career. She initially looked at university to study but was daunted by it as a starting point to get into rescue paramedicine. Instead, she googled the Diploma of Emergency Health Care, saw APC and after chatting to a friend, took the jump and enrolled.
Michelle shares in the video, "APC stood out because it was self-paced and having that online ability with the phone consults with the trainers was just perfect."
Upon completing her studies with APC, Michelle stepped into an Emergency Services Officer (ESO) position at Pantoro South where she is responsible for medical, incident response, emergency response and safety.
When talking about her position, she mentions, "It's hard sometimes but it's so rewarding at the end of the day, at the end of the swing, when it's time drive out, I just go "I accomplished so much", you know? That's kind of cool!"
Michelle's success story is proof of the career-changing pathways APC can introduce to students upon graduation to reach their fullest potential. She is now looking to take her career to rescue paramedicine after getting a few years of ESO experience under her belt!
