Whatever I can say about Nick, they at least treated the comic book arm of the franchise like a comic book series instead of a monolith of 1980's nostalgia. They know the Turtles have an adult fanbase that prefer them to be like the original comics in tone, and that's why we even got The Last Ronin (which the movie is based on). Any "adult" Spongebob product would inevitably just devolve into basically the same show but with lame "adult" jokes shoehorned in.

Code Lyoko was so fire. I was super upset as a kid that I NEVER caught any of the episodes after that one dude turned on the team (I forget his name but you definitely inspired me to find it all and go back and rewatch)

Man, 2024 is starting off strong. I'd thought the uncensored version of Sailor Mouth was scrapped and would ever surface. Glad to see that's not the case

Yooooooooooo I remeber seeing Al's Brain at the 2009 Orange County Fair. For years I had a vague memory of seeing a Bill Neil style educational video about the brain at the fair but never looked into it. Finding out it was a project by Weird Al is amazing.

The boondocks is my all time favorite Adult Swim series, it's honestly so weird to think the Boondocks almost aired on Fox of all channels. Personally I like the pilot art style a bit more than the final art style of the series

I'm almost glad that they only found the Fat Albert audio. I want someone to remove all the dialogue so we can hear more of Herbie's underscore. That's the TRUE star of the special.

Has anyone ever thought about how weird lost media is going to be for Gen Alpha kids? So often a piece of media being searched for starts with the story, “I saw this weird thing on TV when I was a kid,” and it turns out to be some Russian cartoon that aired on Nickelodeon once in the 90s or something. But Gen Alpha is going to eventually grow up and start posting, “I saw some weird disturbing KZread video once,” and it’ll be something posted on an account that no longer exists, and no archives of it. There’ll be so much of that that will never be found.

wasn't Boondocks set to be remade or rebooted last year? I follow the artist/main character designer on his instagram and he posted the updated designs of the Boondocks characters. It looks good tbh, too bad the show got cancelled as the pilot episode was about to me made as said in his post.

The new episodes were booty. Not much was lost, sadly. And the new artstyle is noticeably and distractingly different in a not so good way. These studios need to realize certain shows do not benefit from changing to more modern animation techniques

I was watching a few Boondock clips back in February when KZread recommended me watching the 2003 pilot.

14:37 I wish people actually understand how copyright works. Paramount didn't take down the clips because of the voice lines, they took down the clips because of the clips themselves. A lot of lost media and even existed media are commonly taken down from different platforms especially KZread whether left unedited or not.

Someone else feels safe and happy when this man uploads a new video? Like a feeling about everything will be okay

Of the three colors used to make color film, cyan and yellow fade quicker than magenta, which is why most old film prints that haven't been well-preserved eventually look pink. I have been to several film festivals where they showed movies that don't have a home media release but still have 35mm film prints, and they all look like that. If somebody recorded some Fat Albert footage in the 70s on an 8mm or Super 8mm camera, and they didn’t take care of it over time and just threw it in an attic, that is what will happen.

Waiting for the Coyote V. Acme leak. It has to be out there.

Considering it was likely sent in full to prospective buyers, I think we’ll eventually find it. It won’t be soon, unfortunately, but I believe it will eventually come forward.

A week ago, a user named tapesignal found an episode of Sunscoast Digest with Christine Chubbuck interviewing the mayor of Sarasota about a new hospital. The user also has a Tumblr page about Christine to help humanize her story and let others know about her life, struggles, and her career, rather than focusing on her gruesome final appearance on TV. I also can’t wait for The Day the Clown Cried to be released this June.

Im EXTREMELY sad that the courage prequel was canceled. That show was my everything. I even named my dog after him (rip courage 2009 - 2022)

recently, foodfight 2002 (and earlier) materials have been found, such as models and lost renders, you should cover it if you are interested, since theres actual lightwave models backed up by one of the animators.

I was there at the Orange County Fair for Al's Brain in 3D! I was 12 at the time and a huge Weird Al fan, so my parents made sure that we went to see it. I don't remember all that much about, outside of one part that you actually showed in this vid. The 3D render of the brain while Weird Al sings "The totally awesome corpus callosum!". Weird to think that we were some of the few people to ever see it until this year.

I really hope we can find “everyone knows that” this year. we are so close

@@tb3411 Can't say I blame you; though to my knowledge I think Bill was mostly a background artist. Not saying it's literally all he drew, but man... those characters are definitely John K. style. Jim Smith has to be my favorite of the Spumco crew. And yeah screw John as a person, but I';m definitely in the "love the art not the artist" camp when it comes to stuff like this. *shrug*

it's probably been ~10 years since I first head about uncensored sailor mouth. it's one of those pieces of lost media that i always assumed would be locked in some impenetrable archive forever, or if it ever did leak or get released it would be decades later, after everyone stopped caring or after spongebob was long out of production. this + EKT being found and now the og backrooms image being sourced is just wild. if JTK source image gets found next I will lose my mind.

I used to watch the boondocks way too young. I remember when I was a teen and heard the theme song as my uncle's ringtone. He asked me if I ever watched the show after jamming to it. I quickly lied and said no because I didn't want to get in trouble. I did watch the pilot (after it was found) and it wasn't bad. I really do think that uncensored sailor mouth clip was legit. I've said it before but it's the simple fact that the swear word wasn't the F word but something more tame. So many fakes had some harsh swear words instead, something you'd expect. I'm glad the courage pilot was found (didn't know it existed)

If the Sailor Mouth episode was aired completely uncensored, it would be ended up on Comedy Central or MTV. Just like the banned Dexter's laboratory episode on Adult Swim.

Turn On sucks so hard I think people in 1969 actually had a point on disliking it. I like weird shit, but this is as funny as stepping on dog poop with brand new shoes. Thankfully, we have it fully on KZread now so people can see that laughter was actually invented in 1970.

I watched the first episode of Turn On and while I greatly enjoyed it, i couldn't watch the second because I was suffering motion sickness. I'm glad however that the creator got to at least finish the third episode and that all three are out there. They're art.

I guarantee if nickelodeon ever cans SpongeBob for good, the uncensored dialog will "leak" almost immediately. Probably before the final episode even airs. There will be some short clip on a discord server and they'll claim the full episode is coming soon. And conveniently, it will probably be put up online for all to see _during_ the premiere of the final episode. Just to pull attention away from it.

The Boondocks revival is not happening. Production was taking too long so it was at least being worked on. Eight episodes worth of dialogue were recorded for Uncle Ruckus. Whether that's able to be dug up or not is anyone's guess.

It came out in the 1960's, people got offended over everything back then. There was basically no music with profanity and it was basically impossible to make a movie over a PG rating until the late 60's when the Hayes Code was dropped. Honestly a lot of the jokes in 90's Nick and Cartoon Network shows wouldn't have even flown on late night TV back then.
