Black Hammer is crazy good, I think you’d dig it. Jeff Lemire is my all time favorite writer and I’ve read almost all of his indie stuff. I think Black Hammer might be his best work. It’s so solid

Waiting for a hardcover edition but sounds like it has the 💎 seal of approval.

I got this tpb a couple months ago. Haven't read it yet. Might wait and be my Halloween read.

I really love how beautiful is takes its time to really establish what the Blackboard is and the possibility of the mystery of it being solved with Father Fred and George Sinclair it takes a great time to really flush it out like really what is the mystery. In taking a look at the characteristics of the characters to really try to figure out this entire situation from do different point of views on two sides of different cities to figure out what's going on here. That everything is connected without us really realizing it until another piece is presented in another issue that first you don't realize it until you read it again. Jeff Lemire is really creating some really good stuff right now I really enjoyed how he handled the sentry I love his black hammer series. That's probably my favorite piece of work he has right now and I love that the fact that he's exploring that universe that he's creating really doing a lot of spin offs.

Thank you for this review man. I'm going to add it to my order right now. I was hesitant on buying it without seeing the artwork. But I think it will be good reviewing smaller books. It's easier at least for me to remember what I read when it's a smaller book. I like these trade paperback reviews.

Gideon falls is one of the series that I’m reading monthly it’s definitely worth it you should totally pick it up

Been following Lemire and Sorrentino since their runs on Green Arrow and Old Man Logan, Gideon Falls is excellent and can’t wait for a collected deluxe hardcover edition.

“Speak of the devil and he shall appear.” Apparently the deluxe HC is due out this year in September collecting first 16 issues. Just got back into comics myself and I missed so much I’m playing catch up.

Bro this title here is 🔥. Had just picked it up 2 nights ago and I've hasn't been able to put them down!

I recently jumped into this series because of Gem's glowing endorsement. I was alway curious when I saw the genuine enthusiasm during new comic week episodes, but knew I had to check it out when I saw his disappointment about it coming to an end with issue 27. As usual, Gem's right. This is a great horror story from a fellow resident of Toronto.

Gideon falls is dope bro..I did the same thing grabbed this TPB then i had to just go grab all the single issues up till 10 that just dropped. I'm loving it bro.

love the review/channel. added this book to my ever growing list of books to get. if you haven't already you should check out Head Lopper Vols 1 & 2 by Andrew Maclean, think you'd enjoy them.

Just read this volume today. It was absolutely fantastic. Love the characters, amazing artwork. A must read, can't wait to read volume two. P. S. Your comment about the face mask being just a thin piece of paper that does nothing was prophetic.

Spot on with outcast compo although I find it just as slow and would. It say it any better just the same- I’d say the start of outcast better- I’m a year or so behind on outcast but caught up on Gideon

Watching this after the pandemic, and yeah, that comment about the masks has aged beautifully, and I mean that with the utmost sincerity. Fuck masks. But yeah, Gideon Falls is a cool series, too.

Jeff Lemire is top tier, kinda sad he isn't very well known. Almost all his books are a must own in my opinion!

i'm late to the game. I just read this, best book i've read this year . need book 2 and 3 tomorrow.

This was before the pandemic lol… but yea, never believed masks worked before or after.

Ironic, now we are required to wear that mask.

Side note, Robert Kirkman has no idea how stories should be paced.
