Caught Bruce Palmer when he toured the U.K. as part of Neil Young's backing band on his "Trans" tour in 1982. I think he had a lot of issues with alcohol. Jeez Derek, that Fresh Air album is well ventilated!🤭 I haven't heard the album for years, but I'm sure there were a few decent tracks on it.

Interesting about Steely Dan being involved in that Boylan. If I was a Dan fan, I might care lol. That Heavy Rain is sounding tasty. Gonna have to give that a stream. Fun as always Derek

The James Gang also did a great cover of Lost Women. I didn’t know Bruce Palmer had a solo album.

You reminded me of the band Heavy Jelly AKA Skip Bifferty, they had a great track on Nice Enough to Eat island label sampler, from 1969, I Keep Singing That Same Old Song, excellent track. Skip Bifferty also had songs, On Love, Happy Land and Man in Black all rare singles from 1967/8, also a 1968 album. Some of the members of the band went onto join Ian Drury and the Blockheads and the Clash in the 70’s

Fresh Air - I never remember seeing their LP - not even in the budget bins or I probably would have bought it but I think I have a 45 by them in my collection. ... Boona and Bruce Palmer are both other LPs I would have to look for. ...Of course Heavy Rain seems interesting - probably won't find that one in the wild! I DO have a few (all great!) John Kongos 45s (1 on Elektra) though. ...I am expecting to purchase a large lot of both 45s & LPs from another dealer this week so I'm hoping for surprises!

Good stuff as usual Derek, good to see you. Have you got "Adventures Of Keith" by Keith? Absolute stunner that can be picked up cheaply. Hard to describe but it has a psychedelic concept album vibe with touches of BeeGees, Bowie, Led Zep, Scott Walker....it's hard to describe. An absolutely amazing album by a fading teenybop artist.

Awesome finds, will definitely listen to heavy rain soon, the fresh air lp is great too, that sucks tho that it has surface noise on your favorite tracks, and yea the prices on it are getting way to high for what it is.

It's listenable, but I don't think it was play-graded. It should realistically be a $30-40 record at best.

Hey man. It's crazy, I was just listening to Fresh Air today, and I've been eyeing a WLP on Ebay for like 2 weeks. I might pull the trigger before it gets sold. Heavy Rain is one of the few Guerssen reissues that I don't own. I'm all about heaviness. Bruce Palmer I can get a copy at my local record store, I'm not a big fan of it. Cool acquisitions as always. Have a great week. Peace ✌ ☮ 🕊

We're always in sync with our listening sessions, aren't we?? 😊 Heavy Rain is a heavybliss must-have! Yeah, Bruce Palmer isn't for everyone. Kind of gets meandering, but I love that aspect.

Hey Derek didn't you score an og Earthen Vessel once? Maybe I'm thinking of a different record. I'm really into the Christian psych stuff lately. Agape, Wilson McKinley, Help, Mind Garage, AZITIS

Nope, I have the Guerssen press. But Matt Sands scored one years ago at a thrift! I can definitely recommend you some Christian psych if you need. Several great ones out there than one would think.

G+?? A G+ record is really beat up and that didn’t appear to be beat up like a G+. If the guy play graded it as a VG+ or VG and it’s super noisy that is different but visually it looked ok. I suppose you have to be there is person to see it. Is it Brillo pad like under light? PS. I am not the seller. Lol

  • @PsycheDerek.

To me, G+ can be play all the way through. But surface noise is a bit more present, almost overpowering. Which is the case with this Fresh Air. I don’t make G+ seem as nasty as others when selling. It can still be played & loved.
