The dealership wants $10,000 to replace it. It’s a $2300 battery with a $2500 core charge, so why double the price? Can’t order a new battery without an RA number from an authorized dealer. So, only option is a used battery. EBAY has a couple for around $1500 plus shipping. I’m going to check the 12v battery first though. I don’t trust that the dealership actually checked anything for the $170 fee to inspect. The hardware doesn’t look like it’s been touched, so asides from putting the key in and saving “yes, it’s dead” , I think they greedily want to sell a new car… 🤔

You're the best Jose! Awesome video! I've got to say that although I had a general understanding of everything you spoke of I still can't totally get how the fluid goes into the electric motor, nor how the clutch throw out bearing works in the first place? I just can't picture the insides in a way that makes me understand, but maybe if you have time and you think it would add value you can draw a diagram? That'd help me understand a lot! Thanks again for your awesome content!!!

@@hybridsolutiondiagnostics I've just watched it and, again: great video!!! (i didn't expect it to be any less!) I understand the leak comes from the clutch slave cylinder components inside the clutch compartment and not from the actuator, and if you see the fluid level dropping in the reservoir and keep filling it up, rather than spilling from the actuator it will accumulate in that space where the slave cylinder sits and eventually reach the slave cylinder itself and therefore the shaft connected to the electric motor, which is not sealed, hence the electric motor may receive clutch fluid. Is it correct? And do we know what exactly is done in the recall to prevent this from happening?

Do you think you could make a video for diagnosing the 2011-16 Kia Optima/Hyundai Sonata issue that starts w/ the Hybrid System Warning on the Dash that directs the driver to pull over park the vehicle for Safety? The reason I ask is because once you turn it off it won't restart w/o some diagnostics which if you bring it to a dealership mechanic 99% they will at a minimum diagnose a faulty Power Relay Assembly & more often than not also tell you your Hybrid Battery Module needs to be replaced as well ($2500 - $6500 for parts & labor) when the truth will almost always lead to the Hybrid Safety Plug 125A/150A Fuse or the even easier & so much cheaper fault of the 12v Battery needing to be charged or replaced (parts & labor $50-$250 @ the most). It would be greatly appreciated & extremely helpful for so many people. Thx 👊🏼

Hello Jose my brother I have ask this essential question from your expertise. I have an engine code right now about clutch actuator P0901 and I don’t know if it’s the only thing need replacement or also my slave cylinder or master cylinder also. I have noticed my engine fluid went out after I smell a burning fowl smell when all of a sudden I step on the gas and rpm was going up and my car wasn’t moving at all but eventually it drives and moves. So should I also replaced my slave or master cylinder when I only have P0901 code of clutch actuator? Thank you in advance. I am halfway thru my lease on a 2020 Kia Niro and it has had constant issues since around 1,000 miles. I’m now at 12,000 and the car jerks, sputters, feels like it’s going to stall and the check engine light comes on. I have taken it to the dealer multiple times and they keep telling me “that’s just how it drives!” I have a 20 mile commute to work and I’m afraid to drive my car. What do I say to them so that they will fix the issue? This is my first Kia and will definitely be my last.

Thank you - I have a PHEV 2019 Niro - with major issues - (currently under 16k miles) - right afer braking - there is a follow up grinding noise as if some fan propeller brushes/rubs against something on the underside of the car below the driver seat. Further more recently the steering wheel has become harder to turn. The dealer has not fixed the issue - did some recall add on that tends to muffle the sound a bit - however the sound has become more frequent now. On Repeat visit - the Dealer refused to even acknowledge that there is an issue and said it is normal for the car. Will be taking the car to another dealer soon - will update this - if they fix it or might get hold of a local lawyer.

most times with gdi when you getting a rough start then it drives normal is carbin buildup on the intake valves, you can't prevent it, its only a matter of time, you can use a good quality oil and install a catch can in the pvc system, this only slows down the process of the buildup, there is a reason why companies put the intake mainfold in front on cars theses days, so it would be easier to clean the intake valves

The misfires in my ‘19 Niro was blamed on anything from “cost*o” fuel, to short trips, to high winter humidity, to being in the “driest” part of the country. Not until two injectors coded, and warranty replacement was granted 🙄, did the misfire/ rough idle/ black spark plug mystery get solved.

The excuse, week after week, month after month, was that the couldn’t get approval from Hyundai Customer Care. Only after getting an attorney involved, did they finally take the car back. During that time, they didn’t give me a loaner vehicle. I spent over $16,000 for 1 1/2 years of rental car expenses. I was expecting full reimbursement, but they only reimbursed $4000. What a scam! I finally went down the street and bought a Toyota Camry. I learned a lesson. I hope you avoid what I experienced.
