Rebuilding my diffs the STRONG way
Step by step walking you through how i rebuild a landcruiser diff using the best ‘off the shelf’ parts and then bolt them into my fj45! Hope this video might help some people get a better understanding around diff centres there is a reason specialists exist for this kind of job but doesn't mean you cant have a crack yourself!

Genuinely dont think there is another video around showing the detail on diffs that this one has. Good job.

@@Unclepoolyit sure did mate, gave me a full understanding of the correct process to diagnose issues etc, appreciate you Pooly! 🤟
At this point in time, most of us watching are probably guys or girls who’ve grown up and are done with clickbait KZread, and clickbait automotive channels also. To see a down to earth bloke make an informative yet entertaining video with a genuine personality will always have my attention. You, Timmy, Macca. Providing what the people want.

Thanks mate! Its refreshing to read comments like this i was honestly nervous to post this video because of people that may do things differently to me or disagree but just wanted to explain it how i would have liked it explained to me!
Thats deadset the no Bullshit version of explaining how to rebuild a diff Love it
I spend my days covered in sawdust and bashing nails and will probably never rebuild my own diff but this has to be one of the best explanations of how to rebuild a diff I’ve ever seen. Good job mate keep them coming 👍😎
That’s probably the easiest to follow diff built video on the internet top job. Can’t wait for more
Great video, only thing I wanted to add is when you putting the flange on the pinion, never strike it with a hammer, as you will dig the edge of the rollers in the bearing into the race and cause micro marks, sometimes small dents.. which then transfer to rollers and causes a pattern around bearing and noise. You might get away with it but if you inspect races you’ll see what I mean.. and you can feel it while turning by hand. Massive respect for showing a whole video of doing this process 👌🏻

Unreal vid mate can not wait to see this thing done.
When I was building diffs for a living I would heat the crown wheel up then install it to the carrier and torque it up. Makes a world of difference and ensures a proper tension as normally you have to flog the crown wheel onto the Carrier with a rubber mallet
Great Video Pooly you got me keen to put a set of lockers in our chopped 200 👌
Keep them coming Pooly great work
Your a Poole of knowledge mate! 🤪 Love the content I've been thinking of getting a n80 but really want one of those 2.8 79's cause love solid front axel.

One of the Best video by far on the internet
Uncle pooly this has to be the best diff video i have ever watched on youtube, also you if we had a opinion on why the old diff exploded. i’m a 3rd diesel mechanic down in dandy and we had a newish freightliner come in with 60,000 k’s on the clock, boys down at the frieghtliner factory left the crown wheel bolts loose exactly like that one, 2 came out and ran through everything exactly like that and the rest either snapped or bent. also found that the preload was out on the pinion and they bent the shims somehow. sorry for the word vomit, keep up the great vids please mate 🤙
Well explained. 😄Thank you for sharing.
Good job mate, keep her up
Very informative, thanks mate.
Nice work uncle 👏
Wicked video, good that you didn’t use the thin shim too. In my experience those thin solid spacer shims will fret and end up wearing away to nothing giving you a loose preload 👌
