REBUILDING A CHEAP BLOWN MOTOR AUDI S4 | PART 2

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I'm rebuilding this 2014 Audi S4 that suffered catastrophic engine failure and blew cylinder 4. It's been 8 months since we have pulled the blown engine, and it's time to get her running around and back to her former glory! I need to hear the whine of that supercharger again!

    I have this motor on my A6 and regardless of being the older motor compared to the new Turbo Vs, still proves to be a great project alternative. Thanks for the vid and love to see new content on the TFSI supercharged.

    Honestly I wish I had time to rebuild my engine. So I bought a new one. Could not part out my low mileage S4 due to some mechanical freak of nature. 30k for a brand-new engine installed..but I think it is worth it. 20k+ of mods etc and a new S4 stock or even used is between 35-70k Nice job on the rebuild

    Nice work, impressive video! I love how you show the entire process of learnings as well. For some reason I'm afraid to get that deep into a car even after building computers and enterprise network racks for years - so mad respect for you getting your hands dirty for us all to see. Can't wait to see the B8.5 in action - I loved mine too.

    This being my first engine swap, definitely learned a lot. It was a massive learning curve in every aspect. Something I never thought I would do but had too! Really happy I gained all the knowledge just from this car. I’ll probably end up doing an entire video about the story of this S4 and how I went from not knowing anything at all, to engine swapping it. Crazy stuff. Thank you so much for the support!

    This comment deserves a trophy. Pulling the engine out, and vice versa I definitely had a few things I wasn’t so sure of. Thankfully the B8/B8.5 S4 Network is a great Facebook community that tends to be a great place to ask questions. I also had a few Audi buddies who encouraged me and kind of walked me through the steps over the phone as well. I don’t recommend an engine job without a lift lol. However I’m so happy to hear I influenced you to do your own things! Every enthusiast should be able to wrench by themselves. I suggest the Facebook communities and the Audi forum. Good places to ask questions for sure.

    great job impressive work, wondering how many hours of work the engine swap took berceuse the question i have is i got the s4 2014 need engine swap and i was quoited $2500 Canadian for it and i was told its a 27hrs of work in total so am not sure if the numbers are right not sure if that a good price for for engine swap anyone can respond that would be great if getting charged that much is right

  • @Need4Built

    @Need4Built

    Took me much longer than that honestly based on the fact that it was my first time doing a swap like this, plus I replaced some parts on it, and then had it do it in the cold outside even in the snow on Jack stands with barely any space to work with. If I was to it now, with experience or really any shop was to do an engine swap, all said and done with labor and parts 2000-3000k USD is very fair. It’s a TON of work and it needs to be done right.
