Between recording and releasing this video, patch 1.0.5 dropped. Performance got better, but the ReBAR problem still persists. How does it run for you? And do you use ReBAR/SAM?

Same thing on AMD with an RX 6700XT, TLOU and Hitman WoA are two very noticeable examples sometimes a 20fps dip with Rebar enabled, except in AMD software REBAR is either on or off no per game profile so I have to turn it on and off depending on what I play.

I've got a new pc since i made this video. my old one has pcie3 the new one pcie5. i don't get this problem on the new pc (both AMD cards). so i guess it happens if you put an RDNA2 card in an "old" pc.

@@dugarrYT Yeah I bought cpu + mobo at the same time when gen 10 was brand new, it's got a pcie 3 socket but i'd still like to think it would work....

Works fine on RTX 4060ti on 1.1.2 patch (gained like 6 FPS and no VRAM difference) Though you need to force enable ReBar for The Last Of Us through nvidia profile inspector

Is this still an issue today? I'm having a weird problem with the game where I'm getting a high framerate with solid frametimes, but it feels horrible and stuttery. Like it's constantly rubberbanding left and right if you know what I mean, it looks and feels terrible to play. I have ReBar on in my BIOS for my RTX 4070 & Ryzen 5 5600, I'm reinstalling the game right now and I'll try that first but if it doesn't fix it I'll try turning off ReBar.

i never switched rebar on again and the game runs great, so i assume it's still the same.

Turning off ReBar won't help you with that, it's borderless windowed issue. I've gained performance through force enabling ReBar for the last of us via nvidia profile inspector

@@flat_lander1as far as i can say (month later) it seems to be a problem if you have an intel cpu and an amd gpu. in this constellation rebar doesn't work right in the last of us.

So yeah ReBar not always improve performance but can also reduce it. It's better to leave it at Automatic since the feature is getting smart to know which games require it and then enable it when needed. Why even bother.

rezisable Bar, or as AMD calls it "Smart Access Memory". ASROCK calls it CAM. Somehow everyone has its own name for it. Its a PCIE spec that lets your GPU access bigger chunks of memory. Normaly you are limited to 256mb per cycle. If you have an AMD card you can switch it off in your performance settings of the Adrenalin software. Its in the upper right corner. i dont now where nvidia is hiding it.
