well im with you Billy,i don't see how people can live without being in their kids lives,im a single mother,in that definition completely,their dad not only left them,but picked up someone elses kids an are calling them his,he doesnt want to try for his own...i give my babies double the loving every day,in his place.Me my boys sometimes yell at each other saying "i love you more! No i love you more!" an they will never have to worry about where their momma is,or if i love them,cause they were my dream,so now their my blessings! I thank God for them everyday! also i choked up there at the end when the girl cried seeing her mom haha just had to add that in there!

Being a widowed parent is the hardest test of my life. My husband was the best dad, but he died. To be deep in grief and watch your kids grieve, 5 kids grieving 5 different ways, is hell. We all learned the worst tragedies happen, which changes everything. Not everything works out as it should.

Oh yeah... this song gets me in the gut. My mom was amazing, but my dad was absent pretty much after I turned ten. My mom made sure to raise powerful, empowered daughters who understood the difference between having a person in your life because you want them there v. because you need him there. Parents send very powerful messages both through their action and inaction.

I completely agree with your definition of a single parents. My 3 kids have an amazing father, he’s one of my best friends in this world, we just couldn’t be married anymore. It makes me sad but I am definitely not a single parent. It hurt them when we split but they’re beginning to realize that now they’re parents can really love each other, just in a different way! My kids dad and I divorced when our oldest was about 12 years old and our youngest was 8 years old. Their dad left all of our lives completely. But we had an agreement. When it came time to have the birds and bees talk, he would talk to our son and I would talk to the girls. I ended up talking to all of them. When I asked my son "wouldn't you rather talk to your dad about this?". He tells me "Come one mom. Dads for fun, you're for real". I had no choice but to step up!! My son is very protective of the women in his family because he seen his dad walk away. They have some kind of relationship now, but I was their main support in everything because there was no child support or emotional support from their dad. I never bashed him to them. I let them see him for who he was and decide from there.

Billy, back in 2016 when my eldest daughter was pregnant with her first child my beautiful grandson ryder his sperm donor walked away knowing he was going to be a dad. He left and her dad and I was there every step of the way. That beautiful boy is my heart and he watches everyone of your videos with me and can say word for word what you say in the beginning of your videos. He says nanny can we watch billy today I’m like yes baby we will watch as many as you want. She has gone on to have a set of twins last year a boy and a girl but that first born he is my soul. And all my grand babies are gonna be loved.

Hwy Billy man. I'm not a huge country fan, but you know how to pick them.

My mother was/is one of those people that had kids but was never meant to be a parent. She's not a particularly bad person but her life centers on her and not one for her three children could shift that. My dad's like you though, he doesn't understand how anyone could walk away from any child, let alone your own child. He and my mother weren't even together when I was born, but he stepped up and married her because that was the only way my mother's parents were going to allow him to raise me. (Extremely Irish Catholic and very well off so fighting them was not a good option) And he stayed married to her for 10 long years until he just knew her behavior and actions were too toxic for us to be around so he took me and left. In the 15 years that followed their divorce I can count on my fingers the number of times I have actually seen my mother. The final straw for my Dad with her was when she went AWOL during my entire senior year including my 18th birthday and my graduation.
