Lord when they took a second to stand up for Mrs. Barbara , I was screaming " Ya'll better get off your ass! " GORGEOUS , talented, loving and a TRUE country legend .. that is Barbara Mandrell .. and on a side note... I always thought Trisha could sing but W O W
@sarahbrown65685 жыл бұрын
So happy I stumbled upon this. I remember this performance vividly. Trisha had just lost her father and you could tell how deeply affected she was by the lyrics. And I believe that is one reason she outshone all the other performers that night. Plus I have seen Trisha perform live and she never disappoints. No auto tune for her. She has a voice sent from heaven.

I agree. Trisha has the special ability to make you feel every single lyric deep down. She's one of the most underappreciated female country singers.

Barbra Mandel songs and music infused life and hope in me as a young child....I would escape a troubled home life by jumping up on my bed with a pretend mic...and pretend to be her. I felt her Spirit warmth love in her songs her voice her TV show. To a young girl in a bad home situation I pretended to be great, I pretended to could, I pretended through her. God bless you forever if your reading this.

This a wonderful example of why country music and the performers who represent it are so special. So awesome to see Barbara Mandrell in this as she has been retired for some time and Trish Yearwoods' performance brings tears to anyone willing to hear her. Thank you sooo much for this upload.

That song tugs at the heart strings. I cried when listening to this song long before i even heard the story behind it. And know now what it truly means, makes all the harder to listen to. I lost both my parents & this song echoes my feelings about their passing. Thank you Reba. This is one of the few songs that no matter how many times i hear it I never get through it.

I think there's an interview with a recording engineer or producer who said that Reba only gave that song one take in the studio, that's what's on the record, and if you listen to it, for that, you hear it's a little different of a performance, a magnification, something raw and urgent. Trisha works that song very well, which took lots of character, considering the topic and that it's for Reba, right then and there. That was friendship in action.
