@@roxys744 in todays inflated world, $40k is reasonable. What’s crazy is my old BMW M3 was $46k new in 2002. Inflation went up a lot since then, but salaries did not climb anywhere near as high.

My fl5 was built in Japan, don’t have any issues at all

Ive had mine about 15 months now and i couldnt agree more with you. Car is absolutely perfect. Cant really find anything to complain about, especially with the mods, its only gotten better than it already was.

My biggest gripe is the backup camera. It’s like it’s from 10 years ago. My 22 Bronco I traded for my FL5 had a higher definition backup camera.

Not sure why everyone complains about the backup camera resolution. It’s plenty good enough. Doesn’t need to be 4k resolution. It shits on backup cameras from 10 years ago.

@@SIIKAP1 umm people complain about the reverse camera because it sucks? Stop glazing Honda and demand better. The car is 46k and gets increased every year. There should be an HD clear camera.

I’m at 5k miles and 0 issues actually window was so smooth and snug and tight I was pretty amazed of the quality of the window.

Pretty affordable upgrade to help with suspension feel is swap the damper module for the one in the type s. It’s a couple hundred bucks but it’s plug and play and softens up each mode making it more comfortable to drive.

I want one since I had a 2014 SI. It was a great car after owning a modded Evo. I loved the civic interior. I think the type r is a perfect balance.

The swift are more stiff springs than the eibach pro kit springs, when compared to the factory spring rate

if the steering wheel "cuts" are on the lower left side, its most likely from your pants/shorts when getting into the car. Happened to me also since its a bit tight to get in due to the seats.

The upmark was enough to make me buy my wrx

@@yoltsbp I feel it and I had the same next car was Wrx but for 57 out the door with the extra maintenance for 7 years I did it cuz if I got the Wrx after buying coils and rims and a paint match and a wing I would have paid the same as the type r that’s the only reason I still did it

Let me tell you the scratches on the steering wheel it happens when you get into the car you scratch it with your legs with staffs in your pocket, could be a zipper too it happened to me before

Happened to me as well.. I thought it was my wife's ring but it actually was my knife in my pocket scratching the steering wheel when I got in the car.

The window rattle is from the application of the tint. I don’t have tint on mine and it doesn’t rattle. My previous car which was a wrx didn’t rattle until I got tint. I asked how the tint was applied and some shops use a device that applies pressure to the window to make it easier for them to apply tint. Some even take apart the door card. In other words, a shitty tint shop.

Get the integra type s damper control module and it will be more comfy.

As for the suspension, I've heard you can buy the Integra type s module to make it loads better

I got mines in Championship White just yesterday.. went to dealership at 9.17 am.. didn't leave till 4.53pm got the car for 42k

Title feels misleading. Could've said "my take" on the type R

The markup was enough to make me buy a Corolla 😊 no regrets..a year ago .. in California Honda dealers wants 17 k . over the price 😢 no way ..

Waste gate actuator noise, rattling windows, back up camera quality is garbage, I don’t mind having only 2 seats in the back it’s kinda a plus and a minus. I paid about 5k markup but feel these dealers over price them for what the car is actually worth. R mode is obviously more for track but even comfort mode is good for me most of time but it feels like the car is on coilovers . I never do canyon drives in R mode not compliant at all

Absolutely. Only BMW that can come close to this is 2 series. Cars with tons of horsepower or heavy will not be as much fun as this. Never look at the badge, always follow your heart.

Front is better than AWD. AWD is something manufacturers installed in people's brains to sell. I have been on a race track all my life and never ever needed AWD. It only makes the car tight and not relaxed.

Lol, complaing about tech missing in a "race" model car with garage door opener. This generation is funny. Back in the 70-80s "race" model or "stripper" cars had less tech, all about light weight, like no AC, no power windows, even no power steering. I loved the Enzo having manual windows and people complaining about it. My favorite things about my 2000 Civic Si was the manual antenna and no dam ABS. Save the manual, windows and antennas

Wastegate rattle

Looks like an Accord is the main reason I don’t like it . Honda is wack for not making a high horsepower sports car. I would buy an m240i any day over that Civic R . Same price but you get a b58 with almost 400hp to the wheels . The m240i is a much nicer /faster /better looking car . The seats are the only nice thing in the Type R in my opinion

M240i is not same price. Also, 400hp cars suck to drive. BMW 2 is nice, very nice, but go drive this car and you won't look back. This coming from a guy who owned Supras for 30 years. I agree though, BWM 2, Type R, and BRZ and Miata are probably best cars right now for the money.

It's not suppose to keep up with GR86 in the Canyons. Power to weight goes to Type R by 2 points ( a lot ) but GR is 400lbs lighter. GR is suppose to get away after first turn. On a race track though Type R will be about 3 seconds faster.
