Mike can definitely hold this show on his own. I don't mind other people chiming in but if Mike can do it by himself I'd even mo happier.

I honestly like the new dynamic of the show. Speaking from someone who stopped watching A2HH in the middle of 23'....I prefer this structure. There are people on now that def seem to slow imo, but this format has a lot of unique perspectives to think about now. And at the end of the day, that's what I watch these hip hop shows for. But I def understand why you have that opinion.

@@robertfoster6940 Appreciate both comments and if it was up to me we would dive deeper into these topics and look at them from an even more detailed perspective because there is more that people don't know about Hip Hop then they think they do generally speaking but folks are gonna have to be open minded and leave all the negativity at the door. Which sadly is prolly too difficult for some to do.

Also in speaking with Crooked I yesterday he said his lyrics have been used to cure people with severe speech impediments such as stuttering and the inability to enunciate and pronounce their words effectively. By studying and memorizing his verses people have corrected their speech problems by articulating his delivery properly. I say this to say when it comes to the bashing of artists here just cause you don't like their music, what would be more helpful to the artform is looking for ways it can be used for good rather then just looking for everything to complain about. Good Day

What are Crooked I’s mainstream hits? What makes his opinion on 2Pac relevant? We already know Pac’s a lyrical genius. As far as mediocre rappers being bitter Pac’s music is still shining, here’s a solution: make better music than Pac. When a newcomer makes better music than Pac, we’lI support them whole heartedly. I know Crooked I certainly hasn’t. And no one considers top notch lyricism “nerd” rap. We consider lyrical miracle rap that isn’t popping lackluster.

  • @leroygreen6310

You won't support an artist that makes better MUSIC cause it's been decades so trust they out there. As far as Crooked I there are many people his music impacts, many that were in the class that come from real situations and can relate to what Crooked I has done. He spoke on his upbringing and being homeless as a kid living in a library constantly reading to keep his mind off hunger pains. He spoke of writing his verse on Kurupt's Streets Is A Motha at a bus stop and then a month later achieving his dreams. There are people in the class that have been through real things as well who his music has touched. Instead of hating on another person because you equate hits to success in life and everything as a diss to Pac and Crooked knew Pac for real and isn't dissing him at all by just dong him. Why don't you go do something positive that impacts anybody instead of hating? You wont because you yourself bring nothing to the table in any capacity other than hatred of other people that you don't know.

I enjoyed RMean’s album, Rapsody’s latest album, so you’re incorrect, as usual. You remain bitter because neither you or any of the mediocre rappers you associate with can compete with Pac. And neither can Lupe or Common. Name an up and coming artist making high quality music like Nas’ latest run. I’d be more than happy to check them out.

So I asked Crooked I the Pac question tonight that Mike and I discussed earlier and he said NO he doesn't think there should be a separation between the lyricists in Hip Hop. He did agree with me on he doesn't think its fair to compare Pac being that his life was cut short and I never said that was my opinion in the class but he did say MC's of today should be trying to raise the bar of lyricism beyond what the legends have done out of RESPECT not because pushing to be more lyrical is somehow out of disrespect. He said what someone like Pac did was lay a foundation for MC's to learn from so they could raise the bar. He said he appreciates our questions because the intent behind it was to push the culture forward and all the talk about extreme lyricism being nerd rap is just people trying to hold the culture back when knowledge is power. He believes in those that focus on each bar trying to make it technically superior BUT he also said don't try to master complexity without mastering simplicity. I had notes today before I left the show about bridging the gap between artists, the fans and newer artists so this is why I'm bringing this up and look forward to asking the chat questions in which I can get answers from specific artists moving forward. This weekend on A2HH I will be discussing the preservation and restoration of the culture through lyricism and writing abilities that make MC's unique and makes it where A.I can't copy it to protect the artists intellectual property. I will also be speaking on adaptation and thats the merging between Hip Hop and tech and I will be speaking on education in Hip Hop with respect to Lupe dropping his new album and for some of my friends that are students of his at SOSA as well as other new albums. Enjoy the rest of your week folks. Love

Lord Jamar could NEVER be asked about race. He has a victim mentality and will always think someone is doing black people wrong no matter what the circumstances are. Im native New Yorker born and raised, and Puerto Ricans were always in the same hoods. I went to their house, ate dinner, their parents knew us, our families hung out etc..LJ is projecting his own personal experience and saying his experience is how all spanish people treated blacks which couldn't be furthest from the truth. In NYC its a melting pot, PR did not create hip hop but they played a significant roll and has always been there since the damn 70s!! Get over it!! KRS is 100 correct....and Mr victim conspiracy theorist Lord "will smith never smacked chris rock" is wrong....As usual!!
