That was 08 so I can only imagine how many songs he got now. When you see the list you'll realize just how many times Jay has popped up on a features and soundtracks outside of just his own albums. The point is to constantly suggest Jay lacks artistic passion and cares nothing for Hip hop year after year after year almost every month is ridiculous. THAT'S the point.

Hov is the GOAT. Let that man be great. He has elevated the culture through his music, business acumen , philanthropy, and social justice projects. He is showing the culture how to reach for the highest heights. But, those with a crabs in the barrel mentality do not like to see people in the community become too successful.

You elevates the culture by not even representing the culture on its anniversary, yet you celebrate yourself and at the white man becking call when they need him, but you didn't show up for the very culture that made you rich, make it make sense.

Really dont understnd mikes arguments today regarding jay z and his audience. Jay is a crossover act. White and non black fans love and "understand" his music and story, his rags to riches story is fashioned as "an all americn success story". You go to a jay show, the demograoghics are literally everybody. Fans placed him above hip hop. Jay is just playing his role as the GOAT and "final boss" of the game.

I wouldn’t call getting rich by selling crack to one’s own community an “All American” success story. We all know Jay has a varied audience. The point you missed is that Jay’s original fanbase and what set him up for ultimate success, was black folks. Starting from those dope fiends he pushed crack to in order to fund his label, to his business partners starting Roc Nation, to the people that supported Reasonable Doubt. It’s fine he’s an elitist now. All we’re saying is it’s black people whose backs he stood on to get to where he’s at now. I say this with Jay in my top 5 of all time.

Money doesn’t make anyone superior, it’s integrity and humility that’s sets someone apart. You Jay Stans are disillusioned by his wealth and success, which you’ll never partake in.

@@stillhere6558 musically he never abandoned that audience. Politically maybe..from a capitalist standpoint yes and regardless of how he started him coming from crack dealer to billionaire is one of the reasons why he's beloved. And is celebrated. If selling drugs is a disqualifier then so many legends legacies should be in question.
