can we just talk about how damn AMAZING "overlord of the thunderstorm" is?? at 8:29 it starts off with the same motif in "photon of fluctuation" aka the mondstadt theme (also used in mond character themes like eula), but TRANSPOSED to the traditional japanese/minor pentatonic scale. how cool is that? then at 9:26 it transitions to the liyue battle theme, "rapid as wildfires," ALSO transposed to the japanese scale!!! now it's getting REALLY epic NOW THIS IS THE BEST PART. at 9:44, it's still the liyue battle theme, and you're expecting it to repeat, but this time one octave higher. BUT NO. instead the flute moves straight to the INAZUMA THEME itself. just, wow. CHILLS, LITERAL CHILLS, MAN edit: and just to add, the 2-5-1-6 theme starting 10:36 makes it so much more colorful, it's supposed to be a battle theme yet it makes use of a generally "cheerful" chord progression. makes for a rather interesting feeling- are we supposed to be happy? sad? shocked? somewhere in between? i think that's what it's trying to achieve anyway this song is literally four minutes of pure awesomeness. once again, phenomenal work by chen yu-peng! 🙌🙌

Actually, I don't think that it's the Mondstadt theme. You can hear it in Liyue's battle themes also (like Rapid as Wildfires, towards the beginning), and in almost every character demo released. To me, that's more like Genshin's Battle Theme in general. It reminds me a lot of Star Wars' Force Theme in the way it's being used.

@@chloebangco3752 yeah, it's a pretty generic battle theme, but def most prominent in photon of fluctuation compared to anywhere else. guess it's also bec mondstadt doesn't really have a very "clear and cut" style for most of its music unlike liyue and inazuma (except in the city during the day and springvale, which is clearly mondstadt-themed)

4:14 is not really the same without the Kiragi samurais charging at you and you teammates while trying to avoid the attacks from the treasure hunter Cyro potioneers

Fiery Pursuit is the reason I love fighting Thunder Manifestation boss. It always plays the theme. I put this on the same as Liyue Gallant Challenge. The climax towards the ending is extremely satisfying epic.

Overlord of the Thunderstorm definitely my favorite. Especially when the low sound at 9:07 starts.

The split second pause in the middle of track 1 Is just perfect

I really like the 3rd OST Overlord of Thunderstorm because it carries the same vibe as Rapid as Wildfires(Liyue) and Rite of Battle(Mondstadt), but it has this gritty Inazuma touch to it

I believe these OSTs are the real anniversary reward.

Inazuma has filled Genshin Impact with new life! The characters, story, islands and music just feel so intense that I have to think about it even when I'm not playing. 🙈 "Against the invisible net" is my favourite in this video.

YES I love that part of Duel in the Mist soo much!! There's this one spot in Tatarasuna where there're two fatui agents and two mages where this plays, and when it gets to this part of the song, I'm like "HECK YEAH IT'S SO JAMMIN'! I've been looking forward to the Inazuma OST being released, and it's so cool that Duel in the Mist got it's own music video too! Mihoyo is really making a quality thing with Genshin Impact.

The battle music is such a banger. And there are several pieces of it too so that you don't have to listen to a single battle track all the time.

As always. The songs are top notch.

Again, the length of music production and quality, never fail. Yu-Peng Chen & HOYO-MiX team did it again, bravo!

With all the effort of all musicians, the orchestra and YuPeng Chen... simply brilliant in every way.

there are quite a few people talking about the battle themes, each one individually, but i wanna put my take on all of them in one please note i know like nothing about music duel in the mist - i feel like this is the most lively of them all. not as in like hype but as in fun. its the most alive one, with a bunch of instruments for you to learn about and try to recognize. it starts off a little slow, but then it picks up around 0:30. it definitely made me want to go take on something when i first heard it, but i was also under-leveled so i ran away, but thats off topic. this is definitely high on my list of favorite battle themes, because it gets you involved, wanting more to fight, just so you can hear this whole thing. the build-up that starts at 2:06 and goes all the way until 2:32 is great, and then the flute really gets you wanting to listen to this more, overall, a great way to demonstrate the emotion that is excitement against the invisible net - i fell in love with this one as soon as i heard it. i feel like this one is definitely the one that gets you super excited, yet somehow serious. compared to duel in the mist, its much not quieter, but deeper i guess. its sticks to the same melody until 5:28, where it changes slightly, then at 5:43 its the same as the 5:28 just deeper/on a lower octave (i think thats what its called, idk what im saying tbh.) against the invisible net is amazing. 6:41 gets you straight on the edge of your seat, leaving you to want to fight more. i think this goes for all of the themes. 7:11 was my favorite part, it got me so excited when i first heard this i was like oh my goodness this is amazing!? i definitely think that this is a great way to express how serious inazuma is, that liyue and mondstadt were previews. its really happening, its going down. overlord of the thunderstorm - when i heard this i thought this was qiqi's trailer and i was like wth. this one represents the raiden shogun to me, because its sort of repetitive, like her ideal of eternity. but its always changing, which is like the traveler expressing a new eternity. it has the theme that plays throughout the entirety of teyvat, as well as character themes. it still manages to keep its original vibe whilst still changing constantly, this one truly represents inazuma. the way it changes into rapid as wildfires at 9:26 had me shook, it sounded like it came from liyue, while still keeping the ideal of eternity in mind. yu-peng chen is really amazing. this for me is the one that made me wanna fight while dancing because holy crap its amazing. at 10:36 when it slows down its amazing, just to pick right back up at 11:04 made me squeal. this theme kind of made me think that teyvat would be the same for every traveler, repetitive, problematic, which is why the battle themes we hear in past regions always haunt us, warning we'll always come back. definitely one of my favorites, very well done fiery pursuit - 100% my favorite. this one made me wanna learn how to water breathe and this has nothing to do with kny. it really just made me want to do something great, it made me hyped up, i played this when i fought raiden shogun for the 2nd time, and i won easily. you cannot tell me you do not love this one, its frickin amazing. when i heard 14:09 i was sold. there was no backing out. you had to do whatever you were doing, otherwise you'd feel as if the world collapsed because of you. legit heard this while fighting a kairagi for the first time and i was like "ok, i have to do this, i will not fail" literally the most amazing theme of them all in my opinion, the one that hypes you up truly the most. i have not met one person who doesnt like this one, because i play genshin, i dont meet people. if i did though, everybody would. honestly such a genius theme im actually impressed, which i almost never am. yu-peng chen is a literal icon, a genius, and for his awesome work, lets appreciate these masterpieces.
