Reality to Animation - How to Animate a River
Фильм және анимация
In this video I take reference from a beautiful location in my local area and turn it into an animated scene. I show you the process of how I paint a background in Photoshop and then add animated elements on top.

Wow...I've painted a lot of canvases and other substrates in my decades, but watching animation being created makes me want to do this now! How cool!
I love the integration of many techniques to make this project feasible for one artist. Just learning that many software alone is such an amazing feat!
Please upload more often😭

Wow really nice. Love how you use different tools to your advantage. 👍 I think adding just a few droplets and splashes in the whitewater the eyes can follow through an arc could give nice results and sell that motion even more. It could give some order to the chaos and slow done the pace a little. But just a thought. Great work 👌

What arm do you use for your drawing screen? can you lower the screen so it hangs off the edge of the desk? Love your videos! Over-the-shoulder stuff always seems so inviting. That water is really satisfying :D
@OlofStorm

Thanks I am glad you like the over the shoulder footage. I prefer it over screen recordings. I have the Wacom flex arm for my 24 inch Cintiq. I think it depends on your set-up and desk, but mine doesn't go lower than my table, but I dont want to have it flat down for neck posture. Better having it face me at an angle instead.
always impressed by how clearly you think through this stuff. What tool are you using in C4D to stretch and pull that water pattern?

Hi Olof, how did you set the pen to have barrel rotation? As far as I can tell, you are not using Art pen... I am considering getting the new ipad and apple pencil pro for the barrel rotation. Wish my CIntiq have that feature..

what software do you use?
Where do we get your brush sets??
does anyone know what brush he is using at 1:27 or any ideas how to replicate it with settings in photoshop when creating custom brushes
ive always wondered. Why photoshop and not something like opentoonz or clip studio paint?
Is there any course from you for detailed animation lessons? I would love to learn from you
