My name is Albeli Ritu and I love telling stories. When I was a little girl all I wanted was to do something creative and different. I didn't have the courage to do it for the last 27 years but finally, I have decided to be the hero of my own story. I came to the US in 2018 December and from 2019 I am sharing my journey as a KZreadr in America. I make travel and lifestyle videos in Hindi from America. I recently moved to London, UK and I am very excited to share my experiences and the whole journey with you. If you like this video don’t forget to subscribe.

Even after 1cr, we never get close to our family and also, it always feels like a stranger there. WFH from Indian villages have different charms. No rent, no extra expenses, close to nature, part-time farming.

Amount of money saved in 2-10 yrs or may be lifelong is much less than living with your parents, seeing them, sipping tea with them, having lunch dinner and outings with them. Not visiting your parents in a hospital as a TOURIST is certainly priceless.

To give an idea of high end expenses: Time Square NY City small 1 bedroom - $4600 rent (that's a very good deal). Total monthly expenses, Including rent, with controlled spending, and with very controlled eating out - almost $11k. Besides, NYC has both high state taxes and city taxes. Everything is extremely expensive in the Time Square area for anyone who lives there. (Surprisingly, you can get some cheap foods there but you can't eat that all the time every day). So, if you earn one crore, you will not be able to get accommodation. To be eligible to get a room on rent, you must show that you earn at least 40 times the monthly rent, which is more than 2 crores. But again, salaries don't mean the same things, given the horrendous expenses.
@rho992

You are taking an extreme example, have you seen rents in Mumbai? 1BHK rent in south Mumbai is in excess of $1000 Dollars but salaries are 10 times less than Manhattan for same jobs. A car is cheaper is USA, baaki goods are also same price... so lifestyle is much higher...
@amrahs6999
Жыл бұрын
Yea but a guy working in NYC will probably be earning way more than a 1 cr. For example, consultants after MBA easily earn 175000 USD base pay excluding performance bonus and sign on bonus. Which is around 1.4 cr ( only the base pay ).

I have 2 helpers for my ailing mom, 2 maids for cooking and cleaning. And certainly I am managing all expenses below 70 k INR per month. I guess I have a life style that I am enjoying back in India. I mean certainly the glamour and progressive lifestyle in USA is attractive but what if that starts to fade away over a period of time? Also I guess the change of mindset that happens after moving away from our own culture like emotional distancing from parents etc is something we need to think seriously. Boss, I personally think nothing is lacking in India. Literally nothing. But I also respect all people who struggled to bring a change and moved out of India with big dreams in their eyes.

I moved to England in 1968, three weeks after I got married at 18. I am now 75. I don’t have any family members here, except my own family with children and grandchildren. I have to say, I didn’t miss the family when I arrived as there is no servant, no one to iron your clothes, do the cleaning and cooking, the gardening, taking care of the children. Life becomes super busy almost overnight. I do visit Mumbai every 2-3 years. So not everyone misses their family, you become busy with your household responsibilities.

RENTS have gone up in all major cities. My area it use to be 1400-1450 for 1 bedroom back in early 2022. Now it has shoot up to 1600-1700. Buying house is also expensive.

2500usd rent+ 2000 usd tax + 700 usd (other expence net+ insurance+ bijli + transport +bla bla etc)+500usd(food) if it is per month. than yearly 68k usd in inr=57lakh (basic expense no shoping no india tour no ghumna no retirement planning(in usa)+ 10lakh koi bada kharcha etc. So net 30Lakh can be saved am i right.
This is still very average expenses...actual expenses are higher than this.....if someone in IT and in North India/ Pune and having package of 30-35 lakhs better stay with family unless someone passionate about settling abroad....

This is not a fair comparison.. For high taxes you get services like 911 , Social security ( where u get a cheque after you cross 62) , Medicare ( low cost health insurance when u cross 62) , unemployment benefits,Great infrastructure, way less pollution , bigger houses and a much better quality of life and of course great opportunities to advance your career. There are downsides to living in US as well but the system works in a way that you pay more to gov when you are younger and reap the benefits during your sunset years. Youngsters planning to move should evaluate their situation , goals and then choose.
It is called purchase power of parity, USD can buy only 3.5 times more goods than INR.

Bachcho, bahut achachha video banaya hai, average income walo ke liye achchha hai. Aapne insurance ke naam par sirf health Insurance kaa bataya hai. Bahut se Indians LIfe Insurance, Disability Insurance nahi karaate hai. Jo galat hai. Maine yeha bahut se logo ko dekha hai ki agar kisi tarah ki tragedy me faste hai, to bura haal ho jaata hai. All young Indians, pl. do take life and long term disability insurance. No one knows who will meet a tragedy and when, even though it happens rarely.
Thank you for creating such a formative video. If possible can you try to share details/ experience of someone like learning on a dependent visa.

I live in England, about 2 hours drive from London. I would estimate at least £60,000 - £70,000 per year you would need to earn. Better to move away from London and commute by train to work. Better still, if the husband and wife both work.
