@@garystinten9339 She should not be is not "struggling" to BE an Actor; plus she has a steady job. If they quit their day job they might be struggling financially, and if they had an acting job, it might over-all pay less than the day job they had. SHE IS AN ACTOR Statistics say that most Actors do not have stable employment and only about 5% are considered "Successful Actors". I once had an "Aspiring Actor" sign in my back window. Someone at a Gas Station opened my eyes years ago.

Thought I'd give some advice here so I spoke to my friend who is a UK actor who has done it for 19 years, he is really quite successful and who I have worked with as a production assistant several times. Here are his 3 tips.... 1) Get some professional training. Even if your the best natural actor in the world this shows your dedicated and will hone those skills. It will also teach you certain phrases you will hear on set and then you won't have to ask what they mean. 2) DO NOT under any circumstances mention social media in an audition. Casting directors hate it. They don't care how many followers you have and if you share everything on social media they may not want to let you see the script or be around any big names. 3) Be realistic and manage your expectations. Your never guaranteed your next acting role. 97% of actors either work or have worked regular jobs. Even some bigger names go back to regular jobs, you just don't hear about it much. Their not all as rich as you might think. Sometimes a big film might not pay much but it could lead to a commercial that pays more than you can imagine. You may be surprised what roles earn you bigger money....In this industry you've 'made it' if your getting a paycheck.
You’re doing better than some of us right now, believe that

I appreciate the realness. I do that as well as an actor who’s been in the industry for 13 years. I’m always real with new actors who take my classes or ask for my advice. I don’t lie or over glamorize to make my life choices seem grander than they are. Being real/transparent is super important.

Ok so basically I don’t know if I’m going through the same thing anyone else is but here I go. Basically I’m 14 yrs old I have ALWAYS been obsessed with the world of acting and I want to do it so bad. But I have a few problems. I don’t have the money to be getting agents or any of that. I also don’t feel I’m good at it. A lot of people I know say I am very good at masking the art. I even used to make ads and perform them to my family. And also I jsut really don’t know where to get started. I don’t want to be in small tv shows or anything like that. I want to be in shows on like Netflix or Disney+ or Hulu ect. Also my parents aren’t exactly on board with it ether. My dad thinks the idea is a great opportunity and thinks I have a lot of potential in it. But my mom doesn’t want it I don’t think. But I really really am passionate about it. Can anyone give me any tips?

Damn, actors were like the physical embodiment of social media before it was a thing. Their lives have moments of peak experience full of glitz and glamour, but the majority of their lives are mundane like the rest of us. Anyway, I hope you are doing well and are closer to what you consider "making it".
If you do you’re best you will make it. ✨

Yes! The first step is to learn how to act. Take classes whenever you can and read books about acting(the craft and also the business side of things). I personally really love Uta Hagen's "A Challenge For The Actor." It was the first acting book I ever read. Also read Anthony Abeson's book, and Jen Fischer's book. KZread is also a good source for voice/speech exercises, learning dialects, scene study, etc. Learn monologues and record them. Watch them and critique yourself and keep practicing!!!
