Just wanted to add my thank you for sharing this! I purchased the change key a good while back and it came with ‘instructions’ that where no help. Very clear and much appreciated!!

Thank you Sturdy, I come back to your videos every time i need the info. I bought my first safe from you in 1992 at your office in fresno, the minute man series for 610 bucks, its a very nice thick safe and i still use it to this day. I wish i could get 3 more at that price today, lol. I also have a Chinese winchester (china junk) safe. It doesnt compare to a Sturdy!

Or just dial it to opening index while back cover is off. Combination recovered. Reassemble and dial to change index and set the new combination. Child's play ;)

Where i can buy the lock for practice

I just won a safe at an auction, the safe was left in the unlock position i have access to where the change key is, but i am missing the change key, is there a way I can program the spinner without the key? thanks

Change key is nothing but a piece of metal sturdy enough to press the springs inside all the wheels at the same time. Anything that can push the springs constantly while you dial the new combination will be okay. And you can try multiple times in case it fails at first. The dial should rotate smoothly if you have tensioned the springs correctly. If the dial feels grinding, do not continue rotating or you could mess the teeths inside the wheels.

Hi I think I have tried the method shown in the video, but I still can't reset the password. My problem now is I already forgot the password I have set (with my drawer still open). How can I clear the password and reset it back to the default password from the factory?

i COULDN'T? iT WOULDN'T ROTATE. IT WOULD GO FROM 50 TO 50 A BOUT 3 REVOLUTIONS AND STOP. iN THE BEGINNING THE CHANGE KEY WOULDN'T ALIGN. YOU COULD OPEN IT AT 41? BUT NOW? NEW SHIT AND WONT WORK.

why cant my lock turn when my change key is inserted?

The cover plate will need to be put back on the box so you can no longer see the brass wheels before inserting the change key and turning it.
