As soon as the video loaded, I felt that the one to my left was fake due to the bottle being so bright and transparent. I don't have Eros Flame, but I do have Eros, and the bottle is so much darker, so I had to assume Flame would be the same. Glad to see I guessed correctly, and thank you so much for putting videos out like this for the community. We really need to bring more awareness to this issue, these scammers undoubtedly scare people off from future purchases of a fragrance or brand they might otherwise love!

I personally thought Eros flame was alright at first, but I also felt the same way about Lhomme Ideal est, now I really enjoy both so that goes to show that some frags you really need to give them time to grow on you. Thanks for authentication video, this really helps the community looking for new fragrances online.

The real one also has a Madusa head printed on the inside of the cap. Love this stuff. Great info here.

Looking forward for you to do an Amouage version ! I wouldn’t be surprised if there are knockoffs on eBay since I’m considering Interlude. We truly appreciate the time and concern to warn people to stay alert of counterfeiters .

So when I buy a new fragrance I check your reviews to see if it matches. In all honesty I don’t buy a lot anymore because I found my signature (PDM Layton/Herod) thanks to you. Please keep doing these so when I do start buying again I have a trusted base reference and that will always be you my friend. Side note how are things going in NY? News says one thing but they lie. Are you ok?

yep, it could be a nice education section for your channel. I haven't seen any other trusted fragrance reviewer with a huge audience doing that. PS: I would personally prefer to see here the original Eros rather than the Flame flanker.

First, love your videos and videos like this are always useful. I got mine at Macy a year or two ago. It have medusa logo inside cap on a red surface. Does this fake have that?

😂 I just bought a 3.4 bottle of this off eBay for $36. Went to look at the listing after I got it and it was removed. I've never smelled Eros or Eros Flame before but it smells really pleasant, lasts long and hits all the other authenticators you mentioned.

Wow big difference. I can understand Herod i got the one of Wish too. But Eros is cheap prob cost more in making the bottle to be the same lol. Thanks for sharing

I’m definitely sure I was sold a fake but I’m thankful to God that for some odd reason the package from Seattle was so delayed by almost a month that eBay stepped in and refunded me. 2 days after that I finally received the “lost package.” Bittersweet.

Very interesting. It's definitely evident that the company that made the fake wasn't even trying to copy the real thing. It just seems like it's meant to scam people who don't know anything about fragrances. Personally, I'm not a fan of Eros Flame. The scent is very good, but the performance is lackluster on my skin. I did buy mine from Macy's, so I know it was the real thing!

recently bought a fake eros. so the green one too. pretty sure its the same people doing it. same errors and mistakes. got my money back. learned a few things.

Here's an unbelievable story for everyone. Just last month I ordered a bottle of Pure Malt from Foreverlux. I paid for shipping and everything. When I recieved it in the mail like 4 days later, I was soooooooo happy to get it and smell it. When I opened the package there was a box that looked original and perfectly wrapped in celo with a M sticker on top of the wrapping that I assume stood for Mugler. Upon opening the box, I first noticed the celo was very easy to take off by which I thought nothing of. Then when I opened the top of the box I noticed the inside card insert which stabilizes the bottle, was upside down, I thought to myself that's the first I ever seen that happen. I even checked to make sure I wasn't opening it from the bottom of the box, which i wasn't. Anyways after pulling out the whole insert to get to the bottle, when. I unfolded the flaps, what my eyes saw I could not believe it. It was a bottle of some cheap imitation of Acqua Di Gio called Rio! I could not believe this! I had to rub my eyes to make sure I wasn't dreaming! I've done spent well over a thousand dollars with foreverlux in the last couple of months and they send me this. I've sent them several messages, emails and made numerous calls to them reporting this and to this day they have done nothing to fix this scam. I've never even heard of the cologne Rio before this happened by which I only found sellers on Ebay selling it for $9.99. I've even sent them pictures and still they haven't been honest nor showcased good business relations by communicating with me and righting this wrong! My advice to anyone that orders from Foreverlux, don't but anything that you get a back in stock email but they only have 1 in stock. That's where I messed up and that 1 that was in stock turned out to be a scam!

not just Ebay. What about the facebook groups

What about some bottle with eau de parfum written on the bottle and some without like yours ? Because sometimes i saw other flame has eau de parfum written on the bottle same like the blue eros edp. Also from what i heard, 100ml eros flame came with 2 versions. 1 is edp and 1 is perfumed deodorant spray. And the bottle exactly the same.

I have over 170 fragrances. Most purchased from eBay... others from Fragrancenet, Maxaroma, Notino, Foreverlux & Fragrancebuy Canada. I have ever only received one came in my early days off collecting - Acqua do Gio. When buying from ebay, just do your due diligence. If it's too good to be true, it probably is

Back when I first started my fragrance journey I bought a fake Dior Sauvage EDT 100ml from Russia for $40. I forgot which website it was but it was an online auction type site. I later learned that 95% of stuff coming from Russia and they general area was fake. You live and you learn!

Hey man, I bought the highest quality fake Versace eros flame which has original bottle and packaging. The reason I think it's fake is because, in 10 mins of application 90% of the smell goes off. Based on reviews people tel its a powerhouse and stays for 8 hours in 30 degrees weather. Can I send u the pics so you can review it?

I just bought a fake off eBay. Got it today. The seller had two. One he was using and the other sealed. Once I opened it up and saw the bottle... I knew it was fake. Sadly I corresponded with the seller and he didn’t know that he had purchased fakes. I had to educate him. I told him I paid his tuition and now he knows what to look for. He was sad that his Chanel Bleu Parfum was fake. I had to buy it there since I couldn’t find it at discounters.

Fake Chanel Bleu smells horrible

The edt and edp are different strengths but they come in both versions

I sadly made this mistake but ebay must have gotten word of the seller pushing fake fragrances. All of a sudden I got refunded for my purchase before I even received it. 2 or 3 weeks later, I got that exact fake fragrance in the mail. I knew something was up as soon as I received the packaging. Made me alot more careful with my purchases. Read up on seller reviews 👍

The real one's cap has a Medusa logo inside also

I just purchased the original Versace Eros from FragranceNet.com a few weeks ago. It was my first time purchasing a Fragrance from any retailer outside of a department store. I'm looking at my box now and it doesn't have the serial number embed at the bottom of the box. This means that it's fake?

Just an update, I found a video about real vs. fake for the original Eros, and mine is real. Whew 😅

As the owner of a genuine Eros Flame, I could easily tell the real one vs the fake one. Someone did a horrible job on the fake one. That was extremely obvious. 🤦‍♂️

I smelled a fake Eros Flame today and have a real Eros Flame. They both smell similar BUT the fake is super weak. Real Flame comes out hot and strong.

I just bought the one that apparently is the real one. but the aroma is very low, is that normal?

is it the same as the original eros or just eros flame?

I know a man that sells fakes for $5 and some are okay. Most of them do a good job of smelling legitimate for the first thirty minutes before fading away. I sampled the Eros Flame he had and it was surprisingly close in scent however it was so diluted and weak. It makes me really interested in how the black market fragrances work. I bought YSL Y from him and it’s really good but I paid $5. Amazing that people get ripped off at $40 when the sellers make a profit at just $5.

As soon as the video starts I immediately notice the fake one is left side, it's really noticible from the red color tho it's too bright and it looks like a plastic 😐

Hi Steven! I got a 100ml Marc Jocabs Decadence EDP from Australia pharmacy chemistwarehouse.com.au, and a 1.2ml sample from department store. Both smelled 80% similar but the sample is more divine. I asked my roommate he said those 2 were different perfume to him. 100ml is made in Spain, sample is made in Paris. Could it be different version or simply just a fake one?

I bought a Versace Dylan blue 200ml from FrafranceX last year and I think it was fake. Super week performance compared to my previous 50ml bought at a local store a few years before witch I loved. I notice there was an imperfection in the Versace logo metal cap in front of the bottle as well, but overall it looked like a real bottle from the outside.

I’ve bought a bad product off FragranceX before. There are fakes on there. Whether an employee is swapping them out and stealing the real one who knows. I much prefer overpaying directly from the company and having peace of mind.

I buy from fragrancex as it ships internationally otherwise I would love to use fragrance net!

Is there any way I can get fake from a duty free?

So far of all the bottles I've received ordering on Ebay are genuine so i'm hopeful I'll never receive a good fake in the future!

I've bought a few fakes on ebay in the past myself. Most of the time everyone just needs to have an eye for details on the packaging, the bottle and the way it smells / longevity. I've once bought a fake bottle of Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio Profumo on ebay and it was fairly well made. What draw my attention in the first place was the performance of the juice - even though it smelled really nice, but it didn't last at all. Then I inspected the bottle, and there were quite a few flaws - quite poor quality on some details, like the box, the bottom of the bottle, the cap (the original is magnetic and the fake one wasn't) and also the capacity was wrong (I bought a 100ml bottle when in reality a 100ml bottle of the real thing doesn't even exist - there are 40, 75 and 125ml bottles only - but I did the research on that after the fact). Another fake bottle was Dior Sauvage - I noticed the bottle and the sprayer were of a poor quality straight away - the glass of the bottle was full of bubbles and the sprayer looked very cheap, and the smell was watered down heavily and didn't last at all. But I got all my money back from the sellers after sending them all the proof of them being fakes. I think sometimes even the sellers don't know they are selling fakes if they are not into the fragrance business or have too little knowledge about fragrances and fakes. Stay sharp everyone!

Always wondered which company are making these fake/dupes perfumes 🤔

Most of the time the original fragrances is more staurated color and the bigger difference is always the cap design the fake is always not crisp and weigh lighter and low quality parts. And the sprayer is not good as original not so close.

Steven could you possibly get the name of the seller on Ebay that is selling fakes so everyone can beware of them.
