Thank you! Dodge has done a nice job with bring back an iconic name.
I recently got a 2013 Dodge Charger RT Max RWD, and love it! The engine sounds aggressive, the car looks unique, and has amazing legroom and interior space! Great reviews!!
Its the 8 speed that makes the v6 so quick.
I have the 2014 8speed I rest my arm on it all the time still :)
Coming from a hemi myself the 14 sxt plus get good milage very good compare to what I was getting the numbers on paper look small but real life testing proves otherwise. And as you said only about a second slower so not loseing much
I love your reviews !! Thanks . Keep it up ! By the way , I love my charger R/T awd too !
Hi drewhat, here is the thing, the V6 seems to have a lighter feel than our R/T AWD Hemi. I think some of it is the lighter engine and slightly different suspension. Did you test drive one with the performance suspension? You might find that and the size of the rims make a difference. I agree though, the Charger won't give you the crips feel of a Maxima or something like a 5-series. More of a muscle car than the CTS.
The L means low gear, S is a sport mode. Two very different animals.
Does this trim come with a backup camera or is that only r/t and up?
is L mode similar to S mode in the 8 speed trans gear ?
Is it okay to stay in S gear or should you go back to D once you are at higher speeds?
Do you still stick to the "cons" of the 8 speed today
Jonathan, I am seriously considering the purchase of a 2012 sxt plus loaded but no sunroof. I test drove the car last weekend and was very surprised how light the steering was, almost no road feel. Currently driving 2004 CTS and the steering response is much firmer with v.good road feel. Can you tell me if the very light and sensitive steering in the sxt plus is what it is or does it get firmer at higher speeds. I may go back to the dealer for a more thorough test drive this weekend.drewhat
Much appreciated Jonathan. I am going to test drive the RT Max later this week. A Cadillac dealer has a one owner 2012 RT loaded with 2600 miles and is asking 29,000. What is a fair price for the car? I'm thinking of offering 25,000. What to you think? Really enjoy watching your reviews.
why are you holding the shifter?????
Does the paddle shifter only comes with rwd?
chje0301, you know the paddle shifter is really the only way to shift with the E-Shifter. In our R/T Max AWD we don't get the paddles and only can do it from the stick shift. I think they are responsive, but they will overide you if you don't shift or want to shift to soon. 8 is a lot of gears, but the car actually is more fun if you keep the revs up and use less of the gears than it does if it is trying to keep you in the Eco mode.
Nice review of this special package that Dodge offers but does not promote due to the Hemi. This is more of a Euro-spec package with better handling due to the lighter engine up front. With the Blacktop setup BMW 528/535's should beware. You can get one closer to 30K if you can wait 8 weeks for delivery. That is a lot of bang for the buck for a well loaded vehicle that is fun, relatively economical and has some legitimate street presence.
Hi I know its like a year late but iv been thinking about getting the 2013 dodge charger SXT Blacktop. The only problem Iv have with the car is the mystical/infamous dodge's reliability problems. Do you feel like this car or company is dependable? This is the first time I have ever thought about getting and American car.
Guys I just arrived back home , I hired this baby and 2500 miles later very impressive ride. The V6 is power plus with a fair auto transmission. The Dodge hauled three adults with all luggage attached , the trunk consumed those large heavy bags with effort ease. Well done Dodge. The were a few options that would be nice however the fuel burn is great. Recommend .5/5

@@RzVids the 8 speed is amazing
I would love to k ow the real mpg on one of these
Yes the 5 gear transmission is from Mercedes Benz E-Class , the 8 gear Transmission is from Chrysler . Question is i have the SE , and Dodge considers the Base Model different . My SE has leather seats Touring suspension and the sun roof and RT stripe but with out the RT, heated seats and it has unrestricted exhaust system
I just want to find a used one with a good price :(
