If they say it is traditional, does it mean that they still use borax as the raising agent in their youtiao? I read that the old recipe still contained borax. However, another source says that it has existed since Song dynasty and I'm not sure if they had already had borax so far back then.

This stall was located last year at Bukit Bingtang Station Jalan Alor side, but the vendor couple has moved somewhere else or they're just on retirement ! Thank you for watching :-)
