I think this painting is much more than “pretty ok”, it is fantastic!!. I was truly impressed with the affect you got as soon as you painted the white at the base of each post!!. I am going to give this one a try right now. I usually watch tutorial and never get back to them but this one looks easy enough so I am getting the background done and then come back to it this afternoon when it's dry. Your way of explaining the techniques are very clear and you have made this look easy.

I love this. I think you would like Gouache (pronounced gwash) because it is opaque watercolor. Holbein makes a great white gouache. I also like Dr. Ph Martins bleed proof white. Thank you for this tutorial. Im going to try it.
